Unable to exit with active weapons fire

Was playing on Charon Beta Prime and when I tried to exit it gave me the message, "Unable to exit with active weapons fire.". I hadn't noticed any weapons fire and had in fact been docked to a player built station.

I undocked and the same thing. I figured maybe I was too close to a station. I set an in-system destination of 60k or so away and activated the fulcrum. When I came out, I came to a dead stop and tried it again. Same thing and there were no contacts on my radar.

I finally had to go to the Windows Task Manager and end the application that way.

Any ideas of what's going on?

- Save
- Set coordinates to the center of a planet
- Jump
- Die
- Accept failure

That's how you exit the game quickly.

If there is gunfire in your sector, you can't
use ESC menu. This is to prevent cheating.

The fire doesn't have to be aimed at you.

Just leave the sector and try to save again.

:cool: To repeat what SeeJay said: exit the sector. Preferably, jump to an empty sector. Else, any AI combat going on in-sector will give you the delay.

Just to add to Splosives 'quick exit solution' just hit Alt F4 and that should instantly close your game. I normally hit Alt F2 jumping randomly as far as i can then exit, usualy works that way for me. :)

Alt f9 to quick save and then jump to another area so that U can exit the game also works.:)

when i cant exit i just save and jump into a star

The active weapons fire exit problem is a bit of a nuisance, even after completing 3 consecutive none combat contracts, like retrieve and locate missions I still can not exist the game without leaving the sector!......

Well, the exit delay was put there for a reason. Whether good or not-so, it's purpose was as a PvP anti-exploit, and the goal was attained. Those of us not so enamoured of PvP jousts, find the delay to be a bit much, and a nuisance. Yet another example of P.T. Barnums' timeless quote.

If it was 30 seconds I'd agree, but 10 seconds isn't really very long to wait, given the depth of feeling the exploitation in PvP raised, from what I remember

I just admire the view whilst I wait! Or eject if there a scrap going on nearby and I don't want to change sectors.

I might try the jumping into the Sun or the centre of the nearest planet though :D
