[EM] Fly only in Inertial? [Suggestion]

Post by _-Caleb-_ »

Hola.

I try play only with the inertial mode. (Low Fuel Tank)

And i found a little ""problem""

In inertial mode we dont have some IDS assistance, i think the IDS need work out of the "engine" system, like in planets, anyone play in inertial only?

Vice. U can put a new equip item (If you think that is a good idea :P) (Inertial Mode Assistant xD), i really think is a good idea, in this mode, u can fly without high fuel consumption but need a equip ranure in ship...

To date, only use the inertial mode for long trips, but can be exploited much more i think!

Regards!

I might not understand what you mean, but when you fly in atmosphere you can't use inertia due to drag and gravity.
You must have your thrusters on at all times just like an aircraft. So some kind of "Inertia mode assistant" would be like flying with IDS.

It costs more to fly planet-side because of the above. (More fuel usage)

I might miss your point here thou, so I'm sorry if I did.

Hola SeeJay :p

Yes, i cant fly in inertial in a planet, but if u active the inertial mode and move the ship, the center the gunsight are centred, like ids mode. (And if u try this in space the inertial force make the ship go to initial direction)... i think in this concept but in the space, for a control mode similar to I-War2 for example :)

Well, you can use inertia in atmosphere. I use it to take out incoming missiles. (Going in reverse)
You just got to watch your speed and use your inertia thrusters/afterburner to maintain momentum.;)

I use it all the time in atmosphere, its a lazy way to align for city docking pads if I fluff up a landing.

IMO there should be 4 flight modes - 2 IDS and 2 Inertial.

IDS (main engine) with and without drift stabilization and Inertial (fwd/rev manual thrusters) with and without drift stabilization.

The 'sub-mode' selection should be on a separate hotkey so you don't have to cycle the entire mode list in combat.
