Problems with Co-op missions

Post by opiumskittles »

My friend and I just started playing and we did the whole clan tag thing so we're in the same clan on the server. We attempted to do a mining mission. I had selected the mission and he had received it. After warping back to the station, I docked with the station and my mission completed, but his failed.

Then we tried the same thing again, but I let him go into the station first, and the mission failed for both of us. We both had the requisite amount of materials in our cargo holds.

Are we doing something wrong?

There are a number of non-combat contracts where, if during the contract, somebody who has not completed the contract enteres the station, "station officials" will consider the contract to be null and void. In other words, when there is more than one player in a sector and one of those players takes a contract which requires bringing something back to the station, don't let anyone enter the station until the item has been returned and the contract completed.

Also, don't let anyone use the ESC key or exit the sector. If somebody is in limbo (ESC), that person won't get credit for the contract and, if somebody exits the sector during a contract, then the contract is terminated.

I figured it out. For some reason we're showing up as hostile to each other and when the other person gets the mission it says something along the lines of <cannot join formation with hostile ship>. But only for the mining missions. All the other missions work.

How can we not be hostile with each other?

having the same clan tag should make you appear friendly to each other - not sure if tags are case sensitive - make sure you are both using the same case.

 Target your hostile buddy and press the Numpad minus key. Read what comes up in chat and have your buddy follow chat instructions.
