What sound mods are people using currently? Does anyone use any custom ones that they haven't uploaded? I know of the No Sound in Space mod and the Ultimate Space Sound mods. I really like these types of mods and thought there may be others I am missing out on!

I use one that a friend of mine created.
You can download it here: http://www.evochron.junholt.se/menus/mods.htm (SeeJay Music.zip)

I was thinking more along the lines of sound effects, such as guns, afterburner, warps, etc. However, that is a very nice sound pack and one that I am probably going to use!

I have a small sound mod, but it was already uploaded. If you're interested anyway, you can find it in this post. Play the video there to listen how it sounds.

I use a much lower toned sound for the tractor beam, it's less grating on the ears.

When you click on the sound file does it play and do you hear the sound?
Also make sure you do not have extensions of files hidden. Your file might have been named with a double extension of which one is hidden like "warp.wav.wav".....;)

Do you have the Volume for effects setting in the ingame options set high enough?

Do you have the correct spelling of the sounds folder?

I have not played around with the sound files so I'm just shooting bullits in the dark here!

Maybe the file is to big in size or the length of the sound is not right!

Also, I know that incorrect folder names can also be the problem, maybe the folder has a hidden extension by accident or maybe you called the folder suonds or maybe the folder name should be "sound" instead of sounds. Check the customizing kit for the right folder name!....other than that I would not know what else could be wrong!......;)

Ensure the File is Named "warp". DO NOT INCLUDE ".wav". Simply Name the File "warp".

I use a quieter sound for the tractor (original a bit too much for mining continuously or approaching a hard to spot container) and a cool quieter whoosh/thump for docking.

I love the mix and match approach EM modding allows!

Hello guys, thought id post here as its driving me up the wall and i didnt want to spam the front page.

Im trying to do music mods, but for the life of me cant work out what numbering order im supposed to use as the tesxt is contradictory in the creation kit.

musiclevelX-Y.ogg is how they have to be named, and one of those is the threat level and track number.

If i use X as threat level and Y as track number, all the music works without issue BUT the wrong tracks play for the different threat levels.

If i use Y as a threat level and X as the track number, the music works in the correct order but occasionally crashes Evochron.

Any advice on to what im potentially doing wrong?

this could be due to limited memory.
how much memory do you have available ?

4 gigabyte, although technically 3.2 as its an xp system.

Is their a max file size to the oggs? Some of them are pretty big (16megs)

Just to clarify, it doesnt crash ingame but on startup when launch is pressed

sounds like you are borderline on available free memory.
large sound files are most likely the problem.
reduceing the sound file size should help.

Fair enough, can you clarify which one is the correct format?

I was thinking it was crashing because I was using the incorrect format.

Once I know that, I'll be able to test it out without wondering whether I have that basic thing wrong. The creation kit tells me two different things.

Then i can try the smaller songs, and test memory use :)

I'm not sure of the current format.
the customization kit may have a typo.
someone else will have to answer that.
probably vice.
