Backstory: I always figured Atlas was a pretty dead system station wise considering how good it's economy is, so in single player I built a few stations and made it a fairly populated system, Saved my game and switched to MP (The server Ceti Alpha in particular).
The Problem: after playing MP (left with a save and quit) I returned to SP a couple hours later and found that all of the stations I built in Atlas had disappeared. The hangar fees from one of the missing stations was still being deducted after it had disappeared.
Has anyone else run into this issue?
Note: I did restore an earlier backup save. it helps to keep one up to date in case something like this happens.

It's possible such behavior could be traced back to a fix for a different issue applied back in 2.108. If/when it happens again, please send me a copy of the profile both before and after to analyze. In the meantime, to use the same profile in both SP and MP that you want to retain SP stations in, save out a copy of the profile to a different slot you'll use for MP and keep the original for use in SP.

I hope that this is not the case, as some of it could/might be used as an exploit!.....From post: 153596, Topic: tid=10267, author=Marvin wrote:Also, when going from MP to SP (or vice versa), it's a good idea to exit the game first. Sometimes, stuff might carry over from one to the other.

So I managed to successfully replicate the bug while trying a few different things to see if the end result was different.
I tried closing the game between quitting Multi Player and loading Single Player with no difference in the end result.
Saving the game while in the same sector as the PB Station in SP then moving to MP caused the game to crash with the following error "Runtime error 7008 - Object does not exist at line 64060. Object number not found: 1225"
Building a station in MP, saving in the same sector as the station and then loading SP did not replicate the above error
and CTD
saving the game while in a sector unoccupied by a PB Station allowed MP to load up normally.

You are saying that the Player Build Station in SP Does not cary over in MP when switching from SP to MP while in the sector of the PLayer Build Station and causes the game to crash! That somehow makes sense to me! Single Player Build Stations are not supose to carry over in to Multi-Play. This could be used as an exploit if this was allowed, cause clans would be able to create stations in Single Play that would affect the Multi PLay clan game!......Multi-Play Build Stations should not appear in Single PLay either. The Building of Stations between the 2 modes SP and MP can be problematic and cause conflict if the Building Stations rules per Sector are violated. So conflicts between the 2 modes can cause the game to crash. I do not know if there is an easy solution. Building in MP is saved Server Side, Building in SP is saved Client Side!. So if you are docked at a PLayer Build Station in SP and Switch to MP while docked at that Station in SP your game might crash Since the Station does not exist on the Server in MP unless you build the exact same station with same name and exact location in MP!....I hope I made some sense!....

It is a bug that is fixed for the next update and I've sent ct6 a test build to try out to verify.

A friend and i have actually been having the same type of issue. While playing a private multiplayer game we decided to put down some secondary stations in the Cerulean warzone. Well after placing them and doing a contract we went back to the station only for me to find that the stations were gone, yet my friend could still see them.
Well we replaced the stations a second time with me placing some and my friend, who was also the host, placing some and left to do another contract. When we returned to the tradeport the stations my friend had put down were now gone but this time we couldn't replace anything due to the build limit being reached for the sector.
I decided after this to try placing the stations in SP and then host the MP game to see if the stations would finally stay put, unfortunately they did not. I guess the question is, is this a continuation of the mentioned bug or is it not possible to put down player stations in private MP?

That may be a separate issue 9of3. If you want to have a persistent station network in the game, always be sure to use the server program to host the game with, not just the client. Client hosting is designed only for short term sessions (ie just quick PvP, PvE, or coop arrangements). The server program should be used for hosting in every other instance.

I'm having a somewhat similar issue here.
I have built many stations in SP, and only a handful in MP. However, I have discovered lately that many of my older stations have disappeared in SP.
For example when I explore deep space I built stations for refuelling. I then bookmark them (Map Log) so I can find them again, since it's deep space after all.
Then now, maybe a couple of weeks later, I tried to look for one of them, and it's not there. I went to my other stations and they're not there too. I know I built a complete system in Atlas, trade, research, etc etc. They're all gone.
In MP the stations are in different locations. 1 or 2 of my SP stations might have occupied the same "square" as an MP player built one.
Will this cause the stations to disappear from SP?
Granted I have sometimes NOT exited the game from MP, I just exit server, then clicked LAUNCH. I will remember to completely exit the game whenever I switch from SP to MP and vice versa.

I have multiple profiles of the same pilot name. I use the slots as "savegame slots".
That said, I do not have a special "MP savegame profile" to use ... I just go online or play SP using the one with the latest stats.

I know... lemme give examples:
1. Profile 1
2. Profile 2
3. Profile 3
I load Profile 1. I build a station in SP. I re-save into Profile 2.
I exit SP, but still in Evochron game. I click Multiplayer, I go online. I play same, continously saving into Profile 2.
I exit MP, but still in Evochron game, and click Launch for SP. I go back to my station location. It's not there.
Loading Profile 1 would bring the station up (because the game auto-saves everytime you build or destroys a station) but I lose stats I have accumulated in Profile 2.
Also, I didn't know about this problem until some time later so I have continuously overwritten profiles in a round-robin manner.
In any case I've spent the whole day re-visiting all my stations and rebuilding them where necessary. I must have jumped like in excess of 10000 sectors today just going around the whole place looking to rebuild my stations
I just also did a quick test of MP/SP and after coming back to SP from MP, my recent stations appear to be still intact. Now going back to check on the far-flung ones to confirm their existence.

I dont think player built stations can be transfered to another profile in SP.
e.g. cloning or saving to another profile.
player built stations in MP are stored on the server regardless of profile used but the licence is not transferable.
I may be wrong but I think it's normal.

Um yeah the current issue is SP stations are disappearing, not MP ones.
Currently testing if there's any problem going to and from MP from SP will have any impact or cause any problems, without exiting Evochron first.

Doing so used to drag some client-side stuff along with it. I haven't seen it happen in a long time but, whenever Vice adds a new option to the game, there's a chance the problem will pop up again. Ergo, to play it safe, I always exit the game prior to switching from SP to MP, MP to SP ... or even MP server to MP server. From post: 162656, Topic: tid=10267, author=ELiTe wrote:Currently testing if there's any problem going to and from MP from SP will have any impact or cause any problems, without exiting Evochron first.
P.S. Cronic, your avatar is too cool. Especially the "thumb" overlay.

Well, it happened again, my stations disappeared in my SP game after I got off MP.
I even exited the game first this time.
So now I've just decided to use one profile for MP and a different one for SP :p
