but when i go mining it stop very fast and tell me "no more cargo space for.." whatever i try to mine

my cargo bay is empty, the time i tried he stops after 6% of biological things and dont want mine anymore...

It has only 1 cargo bay. If you want biological units, you need to go near plants. If you want metals, you need to mine away from plants. Water can be mined underwater and oxygen can be mined if you're on a high mountain.

It only has one cargo bay but it does mine a heck of a lot faster - it will empty the bay into a cargo hold in your ship when you re-enter your ship then you can go back out and get another load

M. Grubert - Don't worry over much about the mining beam on the Terrain Walker. It's part of the TW installed equipment, regardless of what you've installed aboard your ship. It's supposed to be different, 'cause it mines 5 times faster than the one on your ship. Once you fill up the TW single cargo bay, go drop off the goods aboard your ship, and go back for more stuff! Well, at least until you've filled all the bays aboard your ship, anyways.....

 The terrain walker's mining beam also has a special purpose: it's used to complete some of the contracts only available to walkers.

Does it mirror the mining beam on your ship or is it just the general purpose one? I.e. if I have a plat beam on my ship does my tw have a plat beam?

I thought Vice mentioned some where that the Terrain Walkers will not work in Space, on Moons in/on Atroids Caves/Astroids.

The Walkers need an Atmosphere to fuction properly!...;)

Congratulations, the terrain walker is a great feature added to the game. Jumping on roofs in a City is very fun. Looking at the beautiful landscape on Esmerald from the ground is a must.
And it seems that the terrain walker is waterproof ...:D

I'm waiting to hear how the terrain walker battles go. Should be interesting.

When you destroy a ship in atmosphere, the ship will often drop cargo. If you can't catch the cargo before it lands, you can use the terrain walker to pick it up from the surface.

Nigel has it. Picked up a few crates, here and there, as he's described. TW battles against aircraft are a bit one-sided (imhyco) on behalf of the TW pilot, should he/she/it have their stuff in a pointy pile. TWvsTW is fun too ! Shades of MechWarrior...blasting away at each other with particle cannon no less !!!

interesting fact, terrain walkers can be seen from orbit as a moving blue dot. Im not sure if it can be seen on the bright of a planet but i have seen a walker on the night side.

Something about it : when it start to mine diamonds for exemple, then he goes near something else, biological for exemple, he only try to mine the bio things, even if the single cargo is 10% full of diamonds... this means : he's doin nothing at all...

If it stay with one cargo, make it mine what owner want, if the walker mine what he want make it with more cargo for balance the time spend at choosing, searching and jettisoning...

dunno, just ideas

 A standard tractor beam will do something similar if you're trying to get ore from an asteriod field which is located inside a planetary ring.

My walker just keeps walking backwards on it's own, really annoying. I couldn't even get back into my ship or quit the game, I had to close the game via the task manager.

I checked the control settings but nothing is set other then the default walker settings so I have no idea why it's doing that annoying crap.......

Probably because you set your throttle to zero with your flight control device (maybe a joystick?). Just center that axis and it will stay put. You control the walker with your flight control device also. For WASD+Mouse only, just center the axis you don't want input from.

If you're using a joystick, you need to center the throttle to stop the walker. The usual "off" position is reverse for the TW.

First time ive heard anyone use the G940, hows your experience with this HOTAS? There's a controller thread in the general forum if you want to post there.:)

I find the G940 a brilliant controller, easy to hold, a LOT of features on it and you have the trottle, stick and rudder all on 1 USB.

Easy to configure in games too, even antient games like Freespace 2.

I use it mainly for IL2 Sturmovik 1946 and Cliffs of Dover where this stick opperates brilliantly, especially the force feedback is so well done that it makes aiming a lot easier due to the stiffness of the stick, with a floppy wonky stick you tend to fly pretty erratic but with the force feedback I can aim so precise I almost feel like a sniper at times.

It's a very robust design as well, I am pretty sure I can bash someones skull in with that base and it would still work afterwards.
This also makes the stick and throttle very steady on the desk, it doesn't slide all over the place when you are yanking them around during flying.

The rudders are also very rebust and precise in use, I use em in Evochron to roll the ship left and right.
They stay in place very well on a smooth surface and if you have carpet you can click down 2 pads with small teeth on em that will grab your karpet to keep em in place.

My friends and I got this system as a gift from Logitech after we used em during a military flight event weekend in the Military Aviantion Museum in Soest. We got them on lend as promotion material and after the event the guy from Logitech was so pleased with the way we promoted the product not to mention how enthausiastic we where about the G940 ourselves (not so difficult since the system is just brilliant) he said we could all keep it. :)

So I am not just saying all of this because I got it for free, even if I had to buy it afterwards I would have.
I used the Saitek X45 and the X52 in the past but they are not able to compete against the G940 if you ask me.
