Carrier Locations?

So I'm pretty new to this game, and I'm still getting used to the game and all. I keep seeing people talk about these carriers and being able to buy military vessels from them, but I have yet to find a carrier that I can dock in.

Is there a trick to finding them? Am I just bad at navigating the map?

I guess I should also mention I'm in Talison, which I understand is a war zone and should have at least one dockable carrier in the system. Any help is appreciated.

Look for a fat cigar shaped object on the nav map.

Talison is not a war zone but it has a (Talison war zone) war zone jump gate to the north.

Talison's war zone is called "Talison Conflict" and you'll probably need to zoom out on your Navigation map to see the access gate.

Btw, Talison Conflict is the easiest place to rack up WZ rank. It's the only one where, if you take a combat contract, you need to contend with a Vonari capital ship.

There's a carrier in Saphire and in Alpha Centauri. All the WZ's: Arvoch, Cerulean, Sierra - have a certain quantity of carriers amongst them. The Talison CZ has a single carrier, the Eclipse. (same name as the particle cannon of renown). There's a carrier in Sol....used to be one in Andromeda.... All ye gotta do is find 'em!

And each one has access to different ship hulls then I'm assuming? I've found the Eclipse and it only seems to have the Ferret frame. But at least I know what to look for on the map in order to find the carriers.

I guess you can only access ship regarding your military rank...

Yep, ya gotta start somewhere. The Ferret frame is just the beginning of a long, profitable relationship, hopefully your profits not theirs! Gotta do missions to gain rank, ALL kinds of missions. All the carriers have the same frames available, equal to the rank you may earn. Commander rank (150 mil points = 150 mission points in a CZ/WZ) opens up the entire menu, as stated above. Ya, there's a mil rank chart, either at the fighter wpns school site, or somewhere on SeeJay's web-site(s). Or you can check out DaveK's Official Mercs Manual, or the Hints/Tips/Tricks compendium. Charts and slides and graphs...oh my !

i'm missing some lost carriers in the anonymous ungated systems mister Vice

i cross this evoverse mainly outside gates, dunno when i use the last, i jump and jump and jump and...

open carriers lost in some ungated systems could be really cool and just more incentive to new explorers/space trippers
