EN4CER. Having a NON CLAN TAGGED PILOT doing Contracts in a UNCLAIMED or CLAN SYSTEM does NOTHING To EFFECT the OWNERS CLAN % or Any Other HARM. THERE WAS NO NEED to Kill This Pilot.

The "50% RULE" Is More a HONOR CODE than a RULE and NO SERVER will ENFORCE IT.

My Information is YOU WERE CONTRCTING in ANOTHER CLANS SYSTEM and THAT YOU Destroyed this Pilot MORE THAN ONCE. The Pilots Who ATTACKED YOU Had EVERY RIGHT To Do So If this Was The Case, and I Believe IT WAS.

I Bear You No ILL WILL as I Do Not Know You But if You are Seen CONTRACTING in a [LL] System, or That of Our MANY ALLIES, WHILE WEARING A CLAN TAG You Will be ATTACKED WITHOUT MERCY Until You LEAVE that System. Should You Wish to Complete CONTRACTS in a [LL] or ALLIED SYSTEM Simply REMOVE YOUR CLAN TAG and You will Not Be Bothered.

Should You WISH TO CLAIM A VACANT SYSTEM, Do So, but DO NOT HARM Another Clans SYSTEM.

You Say you Were IGNORANT Of The RULES Regarding CLAN SYSTEMS. Now you have Been EDUCATED. I Would NOT EXPECT TO SEE YOU Accepting CONTRACTS in ANOTHER CLANS SYSTEM.

I for one, and all of Clan BA, will be more than happy to contract in any Clan held system. That's the point. You claim territory you have to hold it. Telling other pilots what they can and cant do is just not cricket. If what you are saying is in the spirit of RP then that's fine. Understood and ignored. The only clan we have any kind of alliance with is HB, and that's only coz I like SeeJay, but that wont ever stop us doing stuff in their space!:D

If the "don't be bad guys and keep away" statement is meant out off "role play", then not a chance my heraldic friend.

Clan BA has been and all ways will be doing what we what when we want were we want. You want to stop us you have to shoot us.

CvC needs a big kick to spice things up and taking territory is a great big dollop of spice. We can all be friends.

I know mate. I really want to get in but RL keeps smacking me in the back of the head! My wife has not been well and now I have lost my job and so there are lots of things competing for my time. Clan BA will be back, I promise, but I am not sure when. At the moment [BA]Sundalo and [BA]Cag Bane are flying our flag for us and from what I read they is doing a fine job at it!

I say to my self each day "I must try and shoot somebody, I must try and shoot somebody" but I just get funny looks from the people around me!:D

I can see why this situation might turn off new pilots but there are a few things that I think they should consider. Some of this may have already been said, but I'm going to say it again to make my point fully.

[FF] owns a lot of territory, this is true. We also dedicate a lot of time and money maintaining and defending those systems. We didn't build our empire over night -- It took time and dedication to get where we are, and it wasn't easy. To have new players fly in and condemn the game (or us) because they weren't offered prime property when they formed their clan, well, it's a little insulting. This is the third time in the last few months that I can remember a new pilot getting online and telling us we're too big, have too much property, and are ruining their game. Keep in mind it was "our game" months and months before you ever knew it existed.

The real problem, as I see it, is the lack of game servers. Right now (I think) we have 3 or 4 game servers to choose from. FF claims territory on 2 of those server, as far as I am aware. What if we had 20 game servers to choose from? I don't see FF, or any other clan, controlling 1/3 of the galaxy on any of those available servers. There's only so much time in the day. More game servers mean more real estate to share among the masses, and everyone gets to play however long they want. If suddenly FF was only allowed to control 3 systems on a server, we'd have a bunch of bored pilots sitting around with nothing to do, while those systems that were taken away from us are sitting idle mostly, because the clan or pilot that now owns it only plays a few hours a night twice a week.

MORE GAME SERVERS.

Or, if anything, ONE new game server with a rule explicitly stating that a clan may only control a certain number of systems.

To En4cer:

Keep going buddy, don't give up. This game isn't easy to learn how to play, and I don't think it should be easy to build empires in it. In the end you'll find it more rewarding to have put in the work as opposed to having it spoon fed to you.

Also, as a pirate clan, the idea of owning and maintaining hidden systems sounds awesome to me. You're pirates, not legit traders, miners, or whatever. In the real world Somali pirates aren't allowed to park their boats inside New York harbor!

I suggest you start claiming uncharted systems wherever you want. Owning four unknown systems right on the edge of FF territory sounds pretty damn pirate like to me.

Italics would serve for much better emphasis on your words. I do understand you're not yelling though. He had on UE tags. That's why Combat Wombat followed him for 20 minutes while he finished the first couple of contracts. In the mean time I came back from Pearl with another bay full of detonators. It's all in the past just best forgotten/forgiven. Hopefully I can take enough whoopins to start dishing some out.

I will certainly be picking on some other systems

The good news is that it sounds like I can just leave a system and that's the end of it so I'll make sure to have an exit strategy. Possibly some hit and run tactics before reinforcements can arrive. In lieu

If anyone is waiting for the Starport 6 administration to make a rule that 50% (or any other percentile) establishes ownership, then they are in for a very very very long wait. Like forever!

A clan with 20% can claim they have ownership of a system on Starport 6 and there will be no comment from the administration. They can have 100% and there will still be no comment.

According to game mechanics, system ownership is not a decision an ADMIN should make. This is politics that must be worked out between the clans and players.

Everything has been worked out. I understand both the actual and the unspoken rules now. I also received an apology from one of the PILOTS that was being cruel and after running a few contracts together with most of the posters to this thread I feel much better about everything in general.

I'll be grabbing some outlying and uncharted regions as well as help a few other smaller clans establish territory next to mine. Hopefully we can get a solid trade route going so we don't have to depend on the crown jewe- *cough* I mean Pearl. I've almost got my military rank where it needs to be and I can boost my funds incredibly fast using the uncharted trade routes. After that you guys need to watch out

Sorry to post a World War 3 Flame Thread. It did resolve all of my issues though so in the end I'm glad I did. I'll rename the post title to reflect resolution.

In that case you had a right (in our eyes) to attack the [UE]player. That said the [UE] player was also in the right as they acted to reclaim the [UE] system and that is part of what Clan wars is about.

KA and I had a number of discussions of various levels of heat about his use of CAPITALS

and you are right - he's really not intending it to be "shouting", it's just the way he writes!
