So.... I'm one of those people who flat out refuses to get a cell phone, or a credit card. As result of this, I often times suffer from the various inconviences that entails.

For example, since I'm not very computer literate in all things, what is the purpose of having a "verified" Paypal account if it still takes 10 business days to transfer funds from said account? Any solution I have looked for only leads me to one of two things, the first being, "Hello Mr. Tillmen, add a credit card to your account for instant transfers" and of course failing that "Hello Mr. Tillmen, apply online for your new *insert credit card name*.

Maddening I say! I'm 32 years old, and am not by any means broke. I just refuse to get one of those vile cards! (and please note, I'm just venting because I can... I realize that not having a CC can be a pain).

It would just be nice to play right now while I home, as opposed to when I'm out on the road again. If anyone knows something that I don't in regards to making the purchase of the game faster without a stinking credit card, please let me know.

get a pre-paid giftcard at your local grocery store try a $50.00 master card gift card and add it to paypal. be sure to register your name and address at the giftcard website first. I use gift cards for ALL my online purchases and never had a problem. any remaining balance can be spent like a debit card.

I would never get a credit card. I do however have a debit card and if I buy something with paypal it will come directly out of my account because it is linked with the debit card. Can you not get a debit card?

Dear Mr. Tillman,
You do NOT need a credit card to open a PayPal account as long as you have a current checking account.
Once they have "verified" your checking account, you can use PayPal to pay for most everything you want to buy on-line.
Just go to paypal.com and explore the site for more info and how to set up an account.
Or you can try capt_cronic's suggestion.

Hello again all. Wow I didn't expect such quick replies. And to answer the questions regarding debits, yes I have two debit cards, both of which (I think anyways) are linked to my paypal account (both bank accounts are verified). However, when I try and purchase the game, I get the message "Your Paypal Account has zero funds, please log onto Paypal and add funds). When I do this, the only options I can find to "add funds" take 8 to 10 business days to process. As is stands right now, said "funds" will be added to the account the 24th of this month I always thought a verfired bank account made transfers instant, or at least quicker then this 10 day nonsense. *Goes back to Paypal to fish around the site more*

Well, I can't explain why you get those responses. I use PayPal, a debit card and a "verified" checking account. I have no problems buying anything.

This is taken from the Paypal sight. Seems I found the reason for my problem. Seems if I want to buy anything without the -evil- credit card up here in the great white north, I either need the money already in the account, or wait the lousy 10 days for the funds to transfer. Yay Paypal, way to screw your Canadian customers.

Oh well, least I found my answer. Thanks for all the help everyone. Maybe see ya on the 24th.

...I know I shouldn't, but as an aside, some people see credit cards as a cash management tool rather than a tool to spend money they don't have and pay ridiculous interest rates as a result. It all depends on how you use it
