Alliance vs. Federation Frames

Post by Perseus »

Hi everyone. Just started playing the game not too long ago, and am really enjoying it. I've reached a point where I'm making more than enough money to trade in my talon for a new ship. I was thinking something like a Phoenix, as I don't want to compromise agility too much.

Anyway, I'm a bit confused when it comes to Alliance and Federation frames. Every Federation frame has greater armor, agility, assembly, and capacity than its equal-cost Alliance counterpart. Where's the tradeoff? I had assumed both sets of frames would reflect two different design philosophies, and would have different strengths and weaknesses, however it appears as though Alliance frames are worse in every way. What am I missing?

I see, I guess that makes sense. I haven't really looked at the military ships yet. Thanks for the response. I hope to log on to multiplayer eventually once I get better.

At least that's my interpretation of the stats.

I seem to recall a Federation-Alliance war in which the Feds lost. It would make sense that they would not be allowed to make military ships and would then work on making their civilian frames better then the Alliances for multirole purposes.
Yeah, the Fed.-Alliance War was from SW1-4 and Arvoch...

Edit: in case u didn't read the quote, u play as an alliance fighter pilot, so basically, the Alliance win's....

Wow, this has little value with the IDS multiplier option. ;)
