Hi Maarschalk,

Track IR won't be supported in first release. Maybe later.

Well, we have cockpit. The question remains whether or not it's a chronic pay-to-play wallet suck.

The destructible environment aspect is indeed a nice touch, but I'm unsure if they can build a game around that alone. I'll have a look at it once it comes out, right now the website tells too much about the technology involved and too little about the gameplay itself.

I'm also not really happy with the fact that there is going to be a XBOX 360 version - most of times this means that the controls are dumbed down so they fit on a gamepad.

Still, nice to see another Space game coming...with Miner Wars, Naumachia, Black Prophecy, Jumpgate Evolution and Heresy Wars all coming out, this year promises a "bountiful harvest" for us space jockeys. ;)

Something like that is available in one of my childhood games, called 'Urban Assault'. It's not really in space, a science fiction settings, but it was centered around a host station that was the players location on the map and all AI-controlled units like vehicles, helicopters, airplanes and alien armament to which the player could 'virtual presence shift' to take direct 1st person control.

They're working in XNA/C#, which means they can easily create gameplay support for more complex maneouvres on the PC. Luckily, they won't. Some games just don't benefit from simulation controls and seeing this one is geared towards Xbox Live Arcade it doesn't seem to me like they're aiming for simulation gameplay.

I've followed this game for awhile. While it seems kewl, its not going to touch the evochron universe. Just like JGE, it appears it going to be a fast paced Combat flight game. There will be no sim about it, no modding functions, no complex navigation, and from whats been said, no enemy targetting?>>?? Talk about arcade...i'd rather play donkey kong...

Only game i have hope for...Infinity...If it delivers, and i havnt seen a current release mmo do that yet...*cough "Star trek Online"...*Cough....APB...

Without any doubt, Vice has really done a great job with the Evochron series.

Nothing can touch it yet.

my 2 cents..:)

Takle,

actually we are focusing on modding a lot. In first phases people will get in-game editor for building their own mother ships and space stations.

Also, even now people can import their own models into the game, although we didn't publish a manual for it.

About sim - that's another thing we are focusing on. MW should be as realistic as possible, but easy to play at the same time.

Bye,
Marek Rosa

Also jumped in on the test build and am having a blast (excuse the pun :) Haven't yet really figured out where to go or what to do, but the basic game mechanics I've been trying out are fantastic. Tunneling through roids and having a ship pop around from behind a corner and begin firing at you is quite fun. Excellent work Marek, I look forward to seeing how this develops!

It's not possible to mine just yet. If you travel in the direction of the sun in a straight line you'll come across another complex complete with Baddies.

Be careful if using the IE 9 Beta. It threw a wobbly on me after an MW session and I had to restore to the previous day.

Anyone else playing around in the Miner Wars 2081 pre-alpha?
Even in its current build I could spend hours in sandbox mode.
