EM Quest

Hello ya all.

I'm happy to announce that the Quest project I've been thinking about has been
initiated. (I'm jumping around in excitement).

Since my competence in different areas are limited, I've managed to
get a small team together that will try to make this as exciting and enjoyable
reading/flying for you as possible.

It's a little different approach for a quest and it involves both my website
and flying in EM.

We might need some beta testers once the first chapters are up, so I'll
ask for help if anyone is interested.

This is my first attempt of doing a quest ever, so any feedback once it's up
and running is appreciated.

Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as we enjoy creating it.

No release date at this point.

Team members will be revealed upon release.

How experienced do you have to be to

a: survive
b: be useful as a tester

??

LOL, I seriously don't know about Christmas present as a release date.

a: survive.
It shouldn't be to difficult if you can handle your ship. It is mostly about traveling and
surviving in hostile/unknown areas enjoying a great (hopefully) storyline at the same time.

b: tester.
There is no requirements for this one since, if we need testers, they will give feedback
how they experience this type of quest. Fun, boring ...

Might as well ... standing by for further details. (Btw, I don't think SeeJay's new quest is a piggy-back on the default quest. Soooooo ... it probably won't require creating a new profile.)

Marvin is right. You don't need a new profile and it will not interfere with any default quest files.

It's a little different approach I had in mind.

Well, the problem of the quest counter can be avoided by setting the new quest just after the old one...

I suppose you could do that if you placed "dummy" quests in the list before the next real quest.

Beta-Testers.

There is about to be a new Beta (v2) out for testing any day now.

There is a few players that hasn't reported any activity in testing.
Could you Beta testers that is still interested in doing the testing please
report to me with a u2u, so I could send information to all beta testers.

Currently I have only got feedback from 2 pilots. Thx.

UPDATE:

This project has picked up speed again and are well on it's way!

Beta-Testers:
A first test will begin soon, some more tweaking before launch of Beta 1.
Stay tuned. I will send required information through secure channels when it's time to launch
your ships into the unknown!:P

All you need will be provided by me.
Log In information, clean profile etc.

New Players:
I read that many pilots have problems with the IMG Race.
You will still be able to enjoy this quest even if you can't pass the Race.
The IMG (tweaked a bit) is included (Race to) in this quest but we will provide a solution for the Race;)

Stay tuned to follow the progress.

BETA 1 - Results so far!

- Tweaking to improve website - Done.
- No errors reported.
- Provided profiles working as intended.

Excellent job so far pilots. Thank you.

While some is still working on finishing Beat 1, I've been working on Beta 2 and
it will be available soon.

ATTENTION BETA TESTERS.

I found an error in the Beta 1 file in the last quest step.
The coords for the City/Planet is wrong, so just wait until Beta 2 is released for that last contract.
It will be updated in that one and you can continue from there.

It will be available within a few days.

I send you another U2U with some more info after some more quest completion.

Now for the difficulty of combat in hostile systems. Now I understand what new players are talking and complaining about when starting the Quest. Even with the Profile provided to the Beta Testers and after upgrading the profile, the Combat missions in the hostile systems of the Quest are impossible for even Experienced Pilots. With my own Profiles I have no problems beyond an unacceptable difficulty level in Hostile systems because I have a good reputation in most of the hostile systems with my profiles.

I mean C'mon, I accept an IMG Combat mission in a Hostile System, jump to the way point where there are 20-30 ships mostly hostile navy, energy and miners and 3 or 4 hostile Navy Cruisers or Battle Ships constantly jumping in, and every one else is hostile and constantly hostiles jumping in from all 4 sides missile spaming you from all sides and you have noway of completing the mission in Hostile systems. Also if you save docked at a Hostile Station after paying the Docking fee every time you go back into the game you have to pay the docking fee while you never left the Station to redock.

Has any of the Experienced Pilots who are Beta Testing been able to complete the 3 waypoint mission atmospheric combat in Hostile Pearl with the provided and upgraded Profile?...
