yes my friends (and rebels, i know some of you are)
i have began the journey
i have explored the world a bit, upgraded the ship, got enough funds and crew and equipment from today i am setting the navigation torwards unknown points in space and i shall travel here and far into the beyond!
let it be known i have come to greet each and every single one of you, as the explorer's challenge is the challenge of an entire race
the bay is fully loaded with potato chips, donuts sodas and pizzas
i have made room for a general stock of beer as well, altho the countermeasures had to make way, a small trade (cargo is limited even for long travels)
i bid you farewell until next, i shall return with knowledge of worlds man only dreamed to see
me and my crew including the underpaid navigator wish everyone the best

I guess when you've run out of countermeasures, popping cans of bear out the back of your ship might help ward off those hostiles. Hmm... come to think of it, seems like a terrible waste. I'd sooner use the Crew Members - those are my emergency C.M.s :D

On a voyage myself, about 3 hrs or so gameplay from Deneb station x:19900 y:3050 z:60150 | sx: 3499 sx:0 sz:-3502 on a heading of x:0 y:0 z:0 | sx:7500 sy:0 sz:-7500, on third 15 min refuel atm,

sights so far, the odd friendly ship,

current position x:556 y:7 z:-340 | sx:4820 sy:0 sz:-4758

about 1.5k jumps i think, lost count, its a guestimate.

Now at: x:369 y:29 z:-557 | sx:5409 sy:0 sz:-5374
4th refuel,

had game paused about 30 mins while doing other things, ya gotta keep an eye on nav and radar for secrets,

SOme may wonder why I'm out this far, I wanna see how far is game limit and also if i reach a limit, do end up coming out of jump in the north quadrants.

It would be easy to ask developer, but then why bother exploring at all.

... and he was never seen again.

Gorf has already made it as far as 10,000 sectors on all 3 axes which as far as I know is the furthest anyone has ever been. Spooky things happen that far out! Good luck with your voyage and document any strange phenomena you encounter!

I'm out about 2k jumps, theres not even a pretty galaxy in the distance to look at, i have to break the monotany of counting stars on refuel by admiring my ship,

I'm getting software soon to record parts of my journey into the unknown, as flv, or avi, whatever format ppl would like to see,

real time video, with audio, and mouse inputs if ppl wanna see that.

-----

Flying on inertia is strange on auto pilot, i get between 700 - 800 thrust after jump, but it varies, you'd think it would be less than 10k but more than 9k as over 10 is jump,

If you consider that energy to crete the jump bubble around ship ( so to speak ) you shouldn't increase speed at all, just disappear/re-appear over 1k jump distance away, but that a theorethical question.

on exit of jump, why do reverse trusters fire while on inertial mode, Would be nice if nav comp was more adjustable, so you could tell auto pilot whether to fire reverse or not.

taking a break from that exploritory save for now, it mind numbing stuff.

Current postion, 5th refuel:

x: 117 y: -91 z: -450 | sx: 6084 sy: 0 sz: -6082

Makes my ten jumps into the unknown look like nothing.

I'm currently exploring some debris near an asteroid field, doesn't seem to have any goodies though.
