Multiplayer/coop?

Post by vreetech »

Hi all. I have just discovered evochron and from what i have played (the trial) i like. There is one big question i have, can you play the game fully co-op? I understand that there is multiplayer and co-op elements however i cant seem to find any more than that. Is the multiplayer a mmo style server where everyone plays or can you just play with select friends / create your own server etc? Sorry if this has been asked before but i just cant find answers. Thanks, Vreetech.

In MP you can play on your own, with other players, join a clan, and still interact with other players, you can do whatever you want - the only restriction is on swearing, as there are some young players on MP.

Perhaps, best of all, it's free - no extra fees to pay.

You can create your own server or play on someone elses. No central server. Up to like 35 players depending on the server. You can find servers in game.

You can also play multiplayer with a custom universe file, so you can play with whatever planets and systems you like. The standard Evochron universe is plenty for me right now.

 And in single-player you can hire AI pilots to fly as part of your (co-op) squadron.

It's courtesy, Oasis. Regardless of what happens at school, and, we've all been there. It's treating you, and others, as we would wish our own kids to be treated.

Hi Vreetech, welcome to the game and forum. Hope to see you out there.

And Oasis, a Huge reality check does not make it right. Like Ravenfeeder says....I would only add "Treat others better then you would treat your self and the world would be a better place...." ;):cool::cool::cool::cool:

Thank you all for your reply's. Its nice to see a good bunch of people helping others instead of the usual "lol n00bz L2P" etc. I think that I will be getting the full game on the strength of the comunity alone. One final question if I may. If I do play it coop with a friend will they still progress as I do e.g. if they buy upgrades, ships etc will it be saved in their profile for them to use singal player? Thanks once again, much appreciated, Vreetech

What you do in MP is reflected in SP, and vice versa. All your ship/equipment/weapons/kills/rank/standing updates, are the same in MP, and SP. The only thing that doesn't transfer across from SP/MP MP/SP is building stations etc...

 Also, clan territory is unique to multiplayer ... it doesn't exist in SP. And global reputation cannot be influenced in the same way in MP as it can in SP. But your rank and reputation (the number of contracts and kills you've accumulated), your ship upgrades and the credits you've acquired are all part of your profile ... they go with you from SP to MP and back again.

Yes they will retain all that they bought and installed on their ship and they should save often...;)
