I have NV3d and enjoy it, when I do use it. You'll need a 120hz monitor and powerful rig, due to the graphics basically being doubled. It doesn't work in every game(Evochron games don't work) and your mileage will vary. I will be honest and say it's just an expensive toy. I love it for FSX and Batman AA was crazy wild!

Just some considerations, if you don't mind.
Instead of the I5-750 go for the I5-760. I've one I5-750, but the I5-760 it's newer a little faster.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/bes ... 731-5.html

With that CPU you can overclock it, with a blink of an eye. With mine I passed, without great problems, from 2.66 stock speed to 3.2Ghz.
I know I can go up to 3.6 without any problem. The only thing that I've to change was the Intel cooler, and bought a better one. I like Intel boards, but I don't know if they are easy to overclock. I prefer Asus, Gigabyte or Evga.

You've choose 8GB, but for now you only need 4GB. You can do the upgrade a little later. And if you by a 1600 (PC12800) instead a 1333, in some cases it can help you with the overclock, in case you're interested in doing it.

Do you really need Windows / Ultimate? Maybe the Professional version is more than enough; even the Home edition is enough in most cases. You can spare some money with it.

1000 power supply? Why? Do you intend to use a SLI configuration in the future? 750 or 800 is more than enough with your system. Probably can spare some money here also.

With the money you spare, buy a better graphic card. If you want to go to Nvidia go to 460 instead or even a 470.

well had to murder my post since i didn't read all the posts lol.

it will actually have 16 gig ram and 2 of the video cards. look at quantity on the right of my wish list.

my list isn't fixed aside from the parts i already ordered. i find a decent sale on something better then what i'm wanting ill swap out.

edit: Since board is still got upgrade room ill eventually get an unlocked i7 in the future.. the new i7 6 cores are starting to phase the quads out so they'll get cheaper soon haha.

this build still going to take me another month or 3 to get up enough to do a 1st boot.
On the os choice; i missed some of the luxuries xp used to come with but MS's marketing strategy for vista and 7 made them non existent in anything under pro "couple not even in pro"

price isn't bad tho since most of it is OEM. no manuals/drivers/cables in some cases... -.-

Power supply; the video cards eat a bit over 350 watts each board/cpu roughly 100 watts. and most power supplies only have at best 80-90% efficiency. if there anything like sub amps ill have it fried if it don't have 100-300 watts over.. that and never know when you want to add a new add-on to it.

Good decision darcy. SLI can be less problematic than Crossfire, but it's not always a easy ride. ;)

I considered SLI, but my lone GTX480 makes mince meat out of anything I've thrown at it so far. Since we all run EvoM, I was getting 180+ fps on it. If Microsoft new flight sim takes more adantage of GPU than CPU I will upgrade again.
