This sounds excellent. Is this still something that exists (The links are broken) or is this just for clan members?

Hi

Am I the only person who gets "page not found" when I click on the link to astrocarographer's database? Do I need to register somewhere? Thanks

Same here, and Seejay experienced the same. We're still waiting for an "official" answer from Verbosity.

apologies I missed the posts above, it was probably from the time my site was down preparing for its rebuild.

I'm going to be rebuilding the cartography over the next few days, the system is going to be a bit different from the way it was before, exact locations of objects in sectors wont be shown on the map, but on mouse over it will give their in-sector location, this may change if I manage to ever get some advanced JavaScript coding implemented.
similarly while systems will be included, searching for them will take you to the 'home' planet for each sector.

for the record the location of the cartography is currently:
http://www.verbsleagues.co.uk/index.php?q=node/6

This will probably not stay the functional url , since I'm hoping to be able to apply 'clean urls' at some point.

The forms for adding and verifying objects will be added first, and this will take me a day or two, but I'll keep you updated with the progress as it continues.

:o Not sure what you mean ... but I have a set of modded quadrant maps. I'll post 'em soon as I finish reading the forum.

 Well, no, I haven't posted the set ... I use three modded maps in game. I started out by replacing one of the quadrant maps with a blank and then taking screen shots of the blank map while in each system ... then pasting all the screenies together. Connecting the dots to form a "jumpgate highway," I got this:

From that, I added coordinates to one map and names to another. Then made a few other changes.

Seems you could do the same for any location on the map ... then enlarging the final map for display outside the game. If it's made large enough, you can add both names and coordinates without cluttering it up.

Actually, I read somewhere that it is not. Data in EM is encrypted or something...am I right? :o

Edit: I was right...I need a password to see the content of EvochronData.evo archive :P

Yes. For starters, planets are defined differently. They now come in different sizes. Gas giants are new. City locations can be more varied. Planetary texture definitions have changed. Etc.

The Quest requires a new file that can impact the "universe" file. Etc.

In other words, the Hitchhiker program won't work with Mercenary.

No problem. It would've made mapping the universe a lot easier had it worked ... but it would've also been a real cheat in finding the otherwise hidden goodies in Mercenary. So, all things considered, it's a trade-off I'd make any day.

 Ergo, I'll stick with screen shots and graph paper.

I'm working on a web-page map-system for my notes. It's really just a simple click-able maps for system information (Planets, moons, stations...) with coordinates given. I also enter any system/goodies I find.

It's a way of keeping my notes in one place. If anyone likes this simple thing I can upload it.
It's still under construction thou.

I'll upload what I got tonight (European Time). If anyone would like to add items to the charts, don't hesitate to u2u/email me with what you got.

I'm not good enough to create a login so that users can update themselves, so at this stage I'll do my best updating whenever I can. I'll post the link in this thread tonight as well.

Hello Von Paulus.

I have uploaded my "notes" now. It is still under construction, so it's not all that much yet.
The basic structure is there and I'm starting to enter data as I go along.

The link is: http://evochron.junholt.se

If anyone likes this and would like to help, just email/u2u information and I'll add it to the site.

This is uploaded on Von Paulus request so use it as you like if you find it usefull!

Any feedback is also most welcome.;)

Vice.
If any of this violates any copyrights or other rules/laws please advise me and I'll remove it.
