Strategy Guide
Hey Vice I just wondered if you were planning on doing/releasing a strategy guide for EM like you did with EL (Or was it ER I can't remember). I'm sure I'm not the only one itching to get some more in-depth information outside of simply "winging it".
Obviously though just coming off the release as it I certainly don't want to pressure you into anything
But if you are great! if you aren't... may the wrath of 10,000 fulcrum torpedo's be knocking at your hatch! Errr or something to that effect.

Planning to, yes. For now, I am compiling information in the 'Universe' section of the game's website, where you'll find a lot of details about the game's universe, objects, ships, etc. And I'll likely use that for the online strategy guide or if needed, separate it out. At the moment, my focus is on the customizing kit first, then the strategy guide. If anyone would like to submit requests or information to be included in the guide, feel free to send/post those.

Vice you have pointed me to exactly what I wanted.. Equipment info. Now I have something to drool at in my down time. lol
Took a minute to find exactly where this "universe" page was. I expected to be in the top menu or something.. I bookmarked it and for a quick shot for all those looking in this very topic.. Here is a quick link for those reading this topic.

small questions:
1) The constructor station item list is the usual for EL or is there some news...?
2) The license has the same purpose in EL?
Thx

There's a few weapon options for Constructor stations that orbit type (T) planets which are exclusive to Mercenary. They use Metal Ore and Electronics, respectively.

One bug that I've noticed in EM is in the nav map. When you go through the selections: Planets, gates..etc, they are all one behind the selections. ie: I like to have the "gates" selection, to get it I have to switch to the next one "Objects". Also, the writing for the gate obscures the gate itself, so, I have to look for the gate description, and then switch text off to find the actual gate.
Not a big deal, but...

Not a bug, just a change in how the buttons work:
The category buttons on the Nav map now use the 'click-to' method that other buttons use. That is, you click on the button to access what it displays. In Legends, there was a mix of this, where some buttons displayed what was active while others displayed what to click-to. By request, all buttons now use the 'click-to' presentation, so to access 'All', you'd click on 'All' to see it, rather than clicking on something like 'Planets' to see all text.

So, clicking on "objects" to see "gates" is deliberate? A bit like clicking on apples, in an on-line shop, to see bananas!

Nope, you've got it backwards, that was the old system with Legends. The new system requires you to click on what you want to see. So if you want to see 'Gates', you click on the 'Gates' button. So, clicking on "objects" to see "gates" is deliberate? A bit like clicking on apples, in an on-line shop, to see bananas!

That's the point I'm trying to make, Vice. Clicking on the "Gates" button doesn't give us "Gates" - we have to click on the "Objects" button to see them. Clilcking on the "Gates" button gives us "Stations" if my poor memory is correct.

I don't know. It works fine for me. I can't remember ER but in EM the button does what it supposed to do. Once you get used to it, it becomes natural.

Must be something wrong with my download then - it's no big deal, I just click on objects and I have the gates.

The button that you click on will read gates once you click on objects and you will see objects dispalyed on the nav map. Even though the button you just pressed reads gates. So If the button reads objects and you want objects displayed on your nav map you press the object button and you'll see the objects displayed on the nav mab but the button you just pressed reads now the next options to click on to see displayed....it now works the same way as in your pilot profile manager your information status. If you want to see your weapons you click on weapons to display them but then the press button reads the next option to see and does not read weapons any more.....

I don't think so... I thought it was odd when I pressed gates, and only got the gate coordinates, but no gate icon, when I press objects, then I got the gate icon. I was expecting to see the gate icon, when I pressed gate, so I could lock on to it.Originally posted by Ravenfeeder

Here's a request for the strategy guide:
I wouldn't mind seeing hints to the locations of some hidden planets--clues or riddles, perhaps, especially planets that are WAY off the beaten path (more than 100 sectors away from a charted planetary system)

Thanks, I didn't even think about that.Originally posted by EclipseThe icon can be easily covered by the text info, once you find the area of your chosen gate switch back to highlight to more easily lock on to the gate.Originally posted by Knight Rider
