I will not post any spoilers but, I got the X,Y,Z for the bonus in a specific system. But I can't find this system on the system map. I'm not seeing what?

Thanks in advance.

Not all Systems are on the Quadrant map. Is it the one in a Warzone? if so the Warzones are subsystems So you have to travel to the main system and from there find the gate to the respective warzone.
If it is Pearl...Pearl is on the Quadrant Map. Are you having a hard time finding the gate to Pearl? If so the gate is near a Station and hard to see on the nav map. Zoom in on one of the stations on the far right and right click on it as if you going to dock at it and then zoom in again and you should see the gate....;)

The Cerulean System is on the Quadrant Map as well in the far top right corner.;)

I have been to all three bases on New Hope and there doesn't seem to be any "special" contract offered. I have read through the replies earlier in this thread about pilots having trouble because they were landing on Sapphire instead of New Hope. I have verified that I am indeed on New Hope.

Is there something special one has to do to even get this questline offered?

 Mike sure you're in a civvy ship. Then check the Contracts board for a contract that has I.M.G. in the title.

And you have to dock on the Main City of New Hope....When you start out as a Mercenary you get your first quest message. If you ignored it you can look it up in your inventory console I believe under "View Last Quest Message"......;)

Thanks....

Ok. I think you are on to something when you say "Civvy" ship.

You can't get the IMG questline in a combat ship?

So if I buy a merc, miner, or trade ship this questline becomes available?

Do this have anything to do with the really expensive "license" I can buy at the start port? Its over 1.5 mill and there no description of what it is for.

Any ship that's froma station will suffice. The license is buyable so it costs less for future transactions, you buy for less, you sell for less at that station.

A Station License gives you discounts at that Station and Protection....and no docking fees.....;)
For the quest I do not know if you get it if you start out as a combat pilot in a ferret....I do not think so, cause you will need cargo space for the quests.....;)

Ahh thanks for the information about the license. Gosh. I wish the game somehow communicated this to the player while playing ;-). Like a tool tip while hoving over it. Little things like that go a very long way to make the game more enjoyable.

So I don't have a license at New Hope. I just did some exploring and I do have a license at Sapphire. I didn't even start anywhere near Sapphire which was also some what confusing. As a combat pilot you start on the Phantom carrier which is out in the middle of nowhere. No wonder refueling seemed so expensive ;-).

I can confirm though that you DO NOT get this special quest line if you are in a combat ship. I have visited all the bases on New Hope and there was no IMG quest offered.

So now I am exploring a little, trying to make money so I can own some of the other ship types. This IMG quest line looks interesting. I find it unfortunate that the starting ship I chose is restricting my options in this regard. There was of course no way to know when I started that this would be the case.

Hopefully these discussions will educate other newbies that come visit these forums.

 A tutorial should be out by early next week. 'Till then, you can simply trade your military ship for any affordable civilian ship to begin the quest.
