OK how has he done it?
I am a newcomer to the Evochron universe with Mercenary and I did not realise that the game was so small to download compared to a game such as X3, and yet what you can do in it.
Graphically amazing (ok not up to X3 but equally impressive given how big the game is), then there are the planet descents, the planets themselves, weather, physics (space and planetside), the missions, factions, ship customisation, 3D cockpits, travel anywhere etc.
I am seriously impressed and amazed with this game and look forward to spending more time in the game.
I just thought that I would simply say how impressive this is.

I know! I've been playing since Renegades, and I still can't believe it sometimes. Frankly, it's games like this which to me are the future of PC gaming.

It is pictures (including textures), sounds and videos who are big, not the 3D object coordinates. So it's precisely because all objets in Evochron are 3D objects that the game is small to download (And nice to play
).
However, if one day we have high resolution textures for planets ground (I hope so
), Evochron will take more space disc.

That explains a lot, it would be nice to see high resolution textures and I know that graphics don't make a game but believe me what Vice has managed to do with the graphics already is amazing.Originally posted by zijulo

On a side note this has one of the best gaming communities that I have experienced so far and I have experienced quite a few,

Yes I saw graphic improvements between Mercenay and Legends, I played Legends's Demo. Sure it's an awesome work. Now there is graphicly fluid planetary descent, water, wether, better cities etc.
With planetary descent, Vice achived what big companies never done and I never thought a single developper can create such quality 3D game.
Evochron Mercenary looks already great, but with a best ground texture resolution and some generated ground objects (rocks and better trees) it would be almost perfect.
