Mining only one type of mineral?
Is there any way we can set the tractor beam to mine only one type of mineral?

Yes, in a way. Just buy a specialized beam designed for a particular mineral.

More as work arounds ....
You can keep one unit of the material type you want in each cargo bay. This primes your cargo bays to only accept the type you want each time. To do this just alt sell down to one unit and transfer units for the first time/ or fill them.
Not what you asked for ultimately, but a useful way to keep things simple when mining.
Alternatively just dump out any unwanted materials whilst mining and fill up on what you need.
Another alternative way would be to team up in MP with someone else and mine whilst your colleague transfers materials back to selling points whilst you continually mine. And not worry about what you get and sell everything. Int theory it could maximise your mining better than being selective in the right place.

To alt-sell, do you just hold down "alt" while right-clicking in a station?
