Is there some magical way to equip stuff from cargo?
I gave someone a tractor beam and it went to their cargo. I have no clue how to move it from there to an equipment slot.

Make sure you don't left-click. Otherwise, you'll sell the item ... and, likely as not, it won't be put on the shelf (so to speak) for you to buy it back.-
