Installing beam

Hi. How the heck do I install a tractor beam. I purchased one but can't do anything with it but sell it.

You must right-click on it so it is installed as an equipment item.
To use the beam, you must get close to the asteroid and press the B key.

i find using alt+b helps to toggle it on/off, as you can go afk while mining once you have got your rep up in a system enough to not be fired at very much... (or just do what i do and turn the volume up and if i hear shots switch frames and baddie goes boom)

And Mike, I think you mean left-click, yeah? Right-clicking would put it in your cargo bay if you were buying it at the time.

oh and if you read through http://www.starwraith.com/evochronlegen ... lguide.htm, or atleast the first few chapters, it will give you a good basis for the basic ops of your ship and survival in the el universe

Yes, when docked to swap equipment from cargo to equipment slot and vice versa you need to right click the item. And if you have no equipment slot free you have to put one of the equipment slot items in a free cargo bay then move your tractor beam by right clicking on it from cargo bay to the freed equipment slot. The tractor beam needs to be installed in an equipment slot......

To clear things up:

You need an empty slot, cargo or equipment, to buy.
To install, you need an empty equipment slot.
If you have an empty equipment slot, the tractor will install automatically.
Else you need to transfer an item to an empty cargo slot.
Left clicking on an item will sell it. Likely as not, you can't buy it back.
Right clicking on an item transfers it. If it's in an equipment slot, it will transfer to cargo. If it's in a cargo slot, it will transfer to equipment ... assuming there's an empty slot. Else, nothing happens.

Thanks guys. Got it. For some reason, I was looking for it to appear in the beam weapon slot. I've played this great game in the past, but it's been a few months so am just getting back up to speed. I guess re reading the manual would help. Thanks again.
