EVERYBODY\'S FAVORITE, FULCRUM TORPEDOES.....

Post by SHADOW STAR »

Thanks for all the tips from everybody on my last post about torpedoes.....

I've really learned to enjoy a massive explosion avery now and then. Funny though, I didn't realize you could use afterburners with reverse thrusters until you pointed it out. That's perfect for watching the fun! O.K. now.... I have noticed a very annoying discrepancy. Absolutely every time I use them, and indeed complete the terms of the contract, there's always one that got away. I know to track around the emmediate vecinity and shoot the first red blip I see; but I don't seem to find any. I mean I've checked every square twice, and even hung around the station for 5 minutes straight! I'm using them in Agate system more than anywhere, so maybe there aren't enough reds there?

Using fulcrum torpedoes to fullfill a contract, voids the contract.
While it does kill all the reds in the area as well as any green or yellow, it still voids the contract.
You cannot use fulcrum torpedoes to complete a contract. Period.

O.K. ............I got 2 replies, but they kind of contradict each other. I swear I don't kill ANY blips besides reds when I use them. Does that still void the contract?

why does it do that?
the day has ended, the night is yet to come
light and darkness, opposite sides to the same coin, yet what may do not realize is that this coin holds a third side, a side not of either or the other, but of both, a side of twilight. when light and darkness destroy eachother, there is nothing left but twilight, yet aslong as one or the other exists twilight exists within it, that is both the power and weakness of twilight. i am Ryuu Hakumei, The twilight Dragon. I have used fulcrum torpedos many times to complete contracts. But you have to choose the right contract in the right place and use the torpedos at the right time. Any deviation of these three, contract, place and time, can void or mess up the contract or not complete it because on of the reds was out of the explosion range of the torpedo or managed to jump away at launch detection and or you destroyed the objective of the contract like the ship you supose to be escorting to a certain point. However, I noticed also that if your reputation is close to about to change and you need more kills to complete the contract then is required for your reputation change and your reputation goal is achieved before contract is complete that the contract get messed up and you have to hunt down many reds before contract completes. I had a 3 way point mission that took several huntings of reds and several repeats of waypoint 3 before mission finally completed and when I went to check my reputation in the system it had changed to the next tier.....and this happened several times and every time I checked my reputation it had changed to the next tier.....;)

yup, personally I feel that using FT's is the easy option since it adds very little to your pilot skill. however using them is an easy way to trade cash for time when building your military rep ( 1-ft can equal up to or even more than 5 mins), and are therefore useful when you have a major grind to do....
