How do you deploy a probe?

I got a load of platinum converted to a probe. What exactly do I do with the probe? I am pretty sure we're supposed to deploy them, but how?

Just like you fire a missle to deploy the probe. You have to load it in to a missile slot if it is in your cargo bay. And then use the ping function once the probe is deployed..

Ho do we load it to a missile slot from the cargo bay? It seems to stay in the cargo bay after I sold one of my missiles to free space.

Any time you want to perform an alternate load/transfer/sell function, use right click instead of left click.

Yes, as Vice says use right click and it only works while docked at station or carier, or construction station.
You can not swap equipment from cargo into equipment or missile slot while in space flight or drift....

Yeah I learned that the hard way by accidentally dumping my Excalibur into the vastness of space LOL! (why does right click not work? hrmm? *left clicks* WOOPS!" good thing I saved right before ha ha.

Be careful. Some exchanges result in an auto-save. Meaning, you can't undo certain transactions.
