New faces

Hi all,

I've owned EL for the better part of a year, but somehow hadn't managed to really get into it before -- some combination of indie dev work, a real job, and life just getting in the way. Glad to be changing that, figured it was time to say hello.

I've even convinced a few friends to pick up joysticks and join me, as well! We're all planning to play on the Babylon 5 server, likely on a semi-regular Sunday evening (EST) basis, with solo play here and there. Looking forward to seeing the rest of you out there.

Thanks, all. Had some connection issues with the game tonight, but otherwise I have been having a blast. It's a slow grind, but I'm gradually building up my first ship and looking forward to this weekend, when I should have some friends online with me.

Is the Babylon 5 server the only remaining EL server? It seems pretty sparsely populated, which surprises me.

Babylon 5 is the only operational server atm. It runs 24/7 and I do my best to keep it so, barring acts of god.
The scarcity of players is more of a seasonal thing and fluctuates wildly. I see players join one after another, yet not stay around long enough to meet the next and so on.
I would like to remind all players that whatever you do in MP counts the same as SP and vice-versa.
Under this rule, it would make sence to always play on the server, thus making it more likely to be populated.
I try to welcome each and everyone of you, especially new players whenever possible and I can answer questions & offer tips.
Don't let the "no rules server" part scare you. Most players are friendly and will give help and welcome you as I do.
There is "the Romulan" who preys on noobs, but his visits are infrequent at best and many players have never met him.
Being attacked by the Romulan is considered a "Right of passage" to many. Even I have been killed by the Romulan! More experienced players will likely hunt him down if & when he appears.
Outside of that, there are a very small few who are wantonly aggressive.
Babylon 5 welcomes all players and provides this service free for your convenience. I hope you will use it often.

By the way we run a 24/7 Teamspeak server if you are interested. Its been running non stop for 54 days now, so will be down soon for a refresh and a breather, but only for a few minutes.

I've been getting connection error 11004 for the past couple of weeks!! Any ideas?

Should be OK. It is not up at the moment, but I think that is because MS updates may have re-booted. I have asked Dengar to check. But other than that, all is OK. You using the correct settings?

The error message you are getting is to do with an incorrect host address. Check your settings and try again.

Greetings all,

Been playing offline for a couple of days now and thinking to jump into the multiplayer to say hi and to look around a bit more. Have to say, for a game with such limited resources, it's damned impressive! I've seen and tested games with larger companies that cannot match this game's quality or sheer scope.

Might have to go buy a second (or third) copy to give the reg code out to a friend of mine as well.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing you all online, as I hear tell the Bab5 server is the (only) place to be!

Hello all. I'm kulomascovia. I just recently started playing Evochron Legends (2 days ago to be exact) and I bought the game yesterday. I have to say, I'm rather impressed with the visuals and gameplay. I tried out multiplayer yesterday and was fortunate enough to meet some very helpful people who gave me advice, resources, and suggestions. I hope to get to learn more from you gusy.
