Last Man Standing Tournament Tonight at Pearl

Maarschalk, Earl, iBeej, Miaz and anyone else who is captain enough is invited to play a game called Last Man Standing in the Babylon 5 server at 9pm CDT USA.
The rules are simple:
Once your ship is destroyed you sit out (in a star base) until we have a champion.
You can not leave Pearl
You must use only excalibers.
You can use whatever ship.
Warping is allowed but you must remain in Pearl.
First pilot to win three LMS is the champion.
Honor and integrity is a must when playing this game.

Well if you are going to play, you will have to have "special rules".
No shields, no missiles and no MTDS.
That should make it fair!

And one more thing... you have to be blindfolded!!

I never could understand how we have a "central" time zone. With four time zones, where's the center? You have two time zones on one side and two on the other. From either the Pacific or the East (which should either be West and East or Pacific and Atlantic ... another ambiguous piece of nomenclature), the central time zone would be 1 1/2 time zones away!

Friday night was a bad choice. Too many players who have "real" lives. Paychecks got cashed and time to party.

I would definately be up for some of this, unfortunately I was (am) in Turkey and could not participate, but I would defintately be on for it some night. I have not had the pleasure of a PVP battle, despite the fact I have not dicovered half the stuff in Evochron, I am still the most awesome space pilot ever - just wish I had been born a century later when my awesome skills were needed for real.

tryed to log back in 2 hours latter but a case of dain bramage had kicked in by then

Ladies, Gentlemen and Aliens please share with me what night and time would be best for all.
B5 was ready to officiate and boot any potential cheaters or rule breakers.
It would be fun to see who truely the elite fighters are.
It's one thing to train and experiment, it's another to have a tourney and find out using the equal missile systems but different ship set-up's, who the best really is.

I agree. And, since some of the newer players can only fly a clunker, the "competition frame" will probably need to be one of the more fragile craft.

As for day and time, Sunday is good ... somewhere around 4:00pm Eastern time (DLST if applicable).

To make it simple and easy for everyone to fly the same ship & loadout, why not just have everyone start a new pilot profile in Sapphire with the basic loadout?
Same ship, same weapons, same capabilities. The only difference will be skill!
That ought to make even Eclipse a fair venture.
Easy enough to create a profile as a "noob".

That means that you can use any missiles available since you would not be able to fit an excalibur? or guns and canons only?

That would have to be dertermined in advance. I just moderate.
Basic loadout in starter game is just cannon, no missiles iirc.
That would put everyone on an equal footing with the only diff being "skill"!

Even when you start out you could already buy a higher class cannon at the stattion you start at if available and the moderator would not know who is using what class of cannon or lasers would you? Evochron is to open of a game to control....and would depend on the trust and honesty of the players to be a fair game....

And even if everyone comes on with a new profile how do you know that they did not before hand bought higher class weapons in Single player mode before joining the tournament in Multiplayer mode..?

you can exclude sp profiles as an option in the dedicated server, so pilots would have to use a profile that had never been used in sp.

That sounds interesting, but can you control what the player buys at the station he starts of at ?
and a nother thing I was thinking about is that some players are more comfortable and skilled with the craft and weapons of their choice and fighting style. It is like asking who is more skillfull in a fight a rabbit or a tiger. The only way a rabbit can beat a tiger is by running and hidding in places the tiger can not reach and then blast the tiger with a shot gun from his tiny cave now if the tiger also has a shotgun than the rabbits only option is to out run the tiger and hope that the tiger is out of shape....LOL.....and you want to have a honest tournament on a no rules Server....LOL...I say it is relatively impossible.....LOL....but would be fun....
