What Constitutes a War Zone/Navy Ranked Mission?

I've moved along nicely since my last question in the forums, and I'm starting to get a pretty solid grasp of combat.

However, there's a problem. I'd like to go for Navy ships, but can't seem to sort out how to get them.

My Navy rank is not going up, but I'm doing only missions for them. According to the guide, I would be well on my way by now, except I noticed a key phrase: "war zone".

Which zones are considered to be war zones, or how do I determine that?

I started hunting mostly in Olympus, and now in Alpha Centauri. I tried Thuban, but it was a bit of a losing battle to pay station fees to run missions there, at least before I upgraded to Excaliburs.

Yep, there are only 3 warzones that count towards military rank. All 3 are in the upper region of the Evochron map towards the Vonari space border....

And that's because the military fight the Vonari.

hi all. can anyone tell me the amount of kills or missions for millitary and civilian to go up a level. or is there no set figure????
