ubur-noob new pilot.....need help with beacon

hey guys. stumbled upon this game the other day and it's managed to peel me away from WoW....good job lol. So after dinkin around for awhile I have substantially upgraded my ship. Was doin some reading and found out about the beacons. spend a few hours flyin all over Saphire and haven't found this "beacon"...what am i looking for and do you guys have a idea of were to start looking for it so I can get these quest's started..thx

The first Renegade beacon is on the planet of Sapphire, in the dark part of the planet. You should be able to spot the beacon (I think it has a flashing light) from a low orbit.

Are there still Servers available for ER.....LOL....BraveHart...No Server, No online play for hillbillybjopkr....you won't be able to sneak up on him.....

Accountant. I'm assuming you mean the "night time" side. I'll fly around their tonight. Only flashy things I found was a city I could land in...and one I couldn't. Did see some big pyramid lookin dealy-bob but i didn't get a text or anything like that after 2 fly-by's...and now I can't seem to find it again. does the p[lanet rotate at all or is the night time side always night

wish I could play online..think it would be a trip. But with as badly as I am getting my backside handed back to me in itty bitty pieces arounf Emerald....you guys would probably shove a missle up my tail pipe and watch me runnin around in circles flailing my arms LMAO

Also...were do you get the addon's at. I'm more lookin for cockpit view customization. like changing the inside of the cockpit

No, the planets do not rotate so the night/dark side is always the same. the beacon IS there, you just have to search for it.
There were some cockpit mods made by other players and you might still find them by doing a search thru the forum posts. Since they were "player made", they may no longer be available. If some member of the forum reads this and knows where to find them, I'm sure you will read about it.
Btw, not to discourage you, but if you can't find the first beacon, you're gonna' have one heck of a time later...LOL!

Yes, I meant the night time side. The beacons are rather large, conical objects with a wide mid section and smaller, pointed ends.

Also, don't hesitate to join MP, most players will work with you and help you. There are only a small few to watch out for.

For addons, check out the "Community Mods, Art, and Fan Fiction" thread. Most of the recent addons are for Evochron Legends and will not work with Renegades. You may have to go back a few pages to find Renegade addons. I have a cockpit I made for Renegades linked in my signature. Click the "ER Cockpit" link to go to it (ER = Renegades, EL = Legends). I think Warsign also has some Renegade cockpits that are nicely done so check out his thread (it is stickied at the top of the Mods thread)

Just out of curiosity, is it Renegades you have and not Legends?

In Legends, the Renegade beacon messages show up in the chat listing ... not in pop-up windows. Assuming they work the same way in Renegades, you'll need to keep a sharp eye on what's being said in chat.

found the beacon last night.....it was the pyramid thingy i was talking about lol....just didn't get close enough for the text the first time...thx guys

is there a way to try out the MP with renagades. I've pulled up the MP menu and there are no servers for ER and I take it their's no way to play in your guys's servers without legends? I have also seen alot of post's talking about ports for the routers. Mine is the kind you can't get into and enable/disable ports. live waaay out in the sticks and am on satalite internet.

ABSOLUTLY lovin the hell outta this game. quite litterly everything i was hoping to find in a space sim. can do what I want and still dink around with the storyline. Last space sim I played was TIE fighter Years ago

Accountnt....i have renagades...if i'da know you could play online i woulda got legends. Kinda feel like I'm way behind now LMAO

Yes your out of luck kinda with the MP thingy, unless one of the older server operators reopens their server running renegades which occasionally happened.....but now most unlikely.....

Dear hillbillybjopkr,
It is possible for you to host your own MP game, just follow the instructions in the MP section. If you decide to do that, you should post an announcement in the forum explaining what time and for how long. You may find some pilots willing to play. There is still a large base of Renegades players out there.

Yes, try hosting an MP game and announcing when you will be doing so. I have Renegades and play it every so often. I think a lot of current Legends players also do the same. Renegades actually has a benefit over Legends in my opinion. Energy management is easier. Vice seems to have gone a little stingy with the energy in Legends.

So, if you host a session, I and others may try to make time to join you.
