(EL) Questions about primary weapons

Post by Scavenger4711 »

Hi everyone!

I've got some questions about primary weapons in EL.

1.) Do better Weapons consume more energy?
2.) Do different Ship-frames have different energy capacities?

I also recognized that there is a different cycle value for some weapons. Weapons with a lower level have a higher cycle rate. Weapons with higher levels have a lower one.

From your experience: Is it (if you put all these facts together) always more effective having the highest-level-weapon, or ist it sometimes better having a "worse" one?

I hope I didn't confuse you with these questions now :D
and sry for my bad english ^^

Hello Scavenger4711, Bigger weapons do consume more energy and take longer to cycle. Ship frames have the same I believe. You will have to try the different weapons yourself as we each fight in different ways. Welcome to the forum and the Sim. See you out there sometime.:)

Do larger frames have more energy? I hadn't noticed. How did you test it?

I like the higher cyclic weapons, even though they do less damage. I use them for shooting down missiles frequently, and so the higher fire-rate is useful, and missiles do not need to be hit hard to go down. They are effective against other ships, as well (vonari, at least).

Well, seems like we still have some tests to do. If anyone finds out something, please let us know (and please also explain HOW you found that out) ;)

Hi Sscavenger4711. Welcome to the forum, and the game. For myself, I just use the cannon, on its own - works for me! :)

I always use the banshee (the top energy consumer) and works really fine in shooting down missiles too. It all depends on your aim, timing and situational awareness.

Usually I keep the beam weapons off and I can fire up without running out of energy for more than 30 seconds in my mil frame (the last one can't remember the name).

Maybe the Levi I got before this got a little more energy to spare....but nothing you'll notice without looking into it.
Best regards
