Btw, last night on "NUMB3RS," the guy who used to be a lawyer on another show erroneously used the term "light years" as a measure of time. He was talking about how a star in his favorite constellation had disappeared. His buddy remarked that he (the guy that used to play a lawyer) had watched a star die. The guy then corrected him, saying the star had actually died two-point-two light years ago.

Correction: That last sentence should read "two-point-two billion light years" ... or million, or thousand, or hundred (I don't remember exactly what was said ... except that he used the "light years" phrase). 'Cause there are no stars as close as 2.2 light years from Sol.

Proofs my point that you can't use lightyears to determine the age of the universe. The further we can glimpse in to space and see the light only from those objects that are close enough for the light of those objects to reach us the older the universe will appear to us. I bet there are objects out there so far away or traveling away from us near the speed of light that there light can or will never reach us. Hence we will never know the age of the universe....

Very good point Eclipse, I eluded to that in my statement that life passes you by by the speed of light so it is hard to catch or have a life. We might have missed it and not know what has gone before......

Watch out for Oasis ... she's a feisty little pilot. Not afraid of anybody. But does (usually) manage to follow the code of a knight errant ... unlike some others we've seen. Good form when she wins (doesn't rub it in too much) ... although she is a bit like Monty Python's Black Knight when she loses.
