Al\'s Quay

I have a question that may best be answered via u2u.
I was exploring by stupidly At-F2 -ing to wherever direction looked good. I ended up finding a purple dot on the nav chart so I went to it and entered (Trip, the Intrepid Explorer).

Turns out I ended up in Al's Quay. I am guessing that is where the famous bar is located.

When I tried to leave through the wormhole I got a rather strange surprise. I will not describe it here to avoid any spoilers.

I ended up being attacked massively back in Al's Quay and exploding into little pieces but I would like to know some particulars about that system.

If someone would be willing to tell me then please post.

You wouldn't be in the infamous chase your tail wormhole, would you? Try heading for Pearl - you never know, you might get there without refuelling!

At least I now know what to try if I decide to go there again. And with my new mantis drive I might just make it without having to call for help from deep space!

It is indeed, not just the 'quays' but also the wormholes, known as the highway. Back in the first Evochron game ( "Evochron" ) it was part of a series of sectors. in that game the systems were in boxes in a row, systems 1-20 were known systems and 21-30 were unknown, above that they were custom systems made by players, I believe the highway went from 55 to 255, though you had to make your own way back. Al also discovered/created an 'exploit' known as Al's option, a system to produce great amounts of wealth in ever greater amounts, this system still exists ( though to a slightly lesser extent - roughly half of what it was), and is the key to near unlimited wealth. In fact the cash 'counter' had to be re-written by vice twice after Al broke it due to making so much cash the game couldn't deal with it

Where, in Al's Quay? Only place I know things are free is in Andromeda Galaxy, and of course mining every where else....LOL....
