Trading and the pursuit of credits

Post by Ohsirus »

Hi all! Bought the game (Legends) in July loved the concept and honestly th visuals are quite good once you Nvidia override them. The only thing i can't quite grasp is "Trading".

I mean how do you keep track of who pays what? Also the returns seem so trivial on them. You burn thru more costly fuel trying to shuttle items around.

Now I'm a total noob at the game, Still putting around Sapphire, but it seems like I spend more time trying to earn credits for fuel than really serving any purpose.

Does it ever get to be more than just a grind fest for credits?

oh yeah, it can take a bit to work out a useful trade run. Try starting out mining platinum to earn credits. once you are at the point where you are willing to go to a system with hostile ships try Olympus, by the time you can survive there you should be able to figure out a few good possible trades.

Tks All! I did take a lil hop to Olympus last night. Did about two contracts, taking out hostiles. Seemed too expensive an endeavor to stick with and I kept getting ambushed at the station so I limped back into sapphire :(

Finally got my 360 controller working/mapped right although I wish you could adjust the axis default positions ( ie my right sticks natural position is mid-axis which is also my throttle so Im always cruising).

I have an X-52, but the game seems too sensisitive for me to properly dogfight with it.

Does anybody know if there is a Major planned update/expansion/new toy being considered?

There's lots of pilots, in this game, that use the X-52, and use it very well - dust my backside with it. There are also many pilots who have earned double figure billions; mostly by trading.

There's a big learning curve in this game and a lot of hidden stuff to find out about.

Welcome to the forum, and the game, and... Merry Christmas.

You can adjust all settings of your X52 even sensitivity in game and also using the Saitek profile editor.;)

I did adjust and adjust. but I just never felt like I had complete control. It's ok for FSX, but it was too much work when it came to dogfighting.

I was kind of leary of using my X360 controller for EL, but once I d'ld Xpadder (another Indy programmer) and got it set-up, WoW!! Now I have every button setup perfectly (even those pesky triggers) with force feedback. Didn't realize how powerful alil program it is. Now I don't feel as timid as I was before taking hostile contracts.

Weird indeed.
I know many pilots out there using X52 and didn't use any software to configure it. At least I don't know any info about it.

But is it working good, it's ok.

MMaggio and Eclipse knows almost everything about X52.
If you have still any question, they can help you. Also, Maarschalk, Benerick and even Vice using it...

I think X52's own configuration software is enough...
