hi,
Welcome to the forum and the game. It can sometimes take up to 24 hours for the payment to be processed ( anti-fraud checks), please check that your payment wasn't an e-check as that can take longer.
There is a way to save your config, though I'm not sure what it is, stick around and someone who knows the x52 will be able to help out.
once you have the game you should be able to join in online fairly quickly, mostly its a nice community of pilots online, and no doubt you'll be up to speed with them in only a few hours, though to be the best takes a little longer

Hello Captain Thorns, welcome to the forum and the Sim. The on-line community is small but growing. We have members from around the world so you will see some and maybe not others. Some use various programs for headsets and others just type in messages within the Sim. Hope to see you out there sometime.

you'll usually find a few pilots online at this time of evening, an average night has probably 6-12 pilots on at one timeOriginally posted by Captain Thorns

err just stay away from them?any tips for not flying into a planet?
1. hire a navigation crewmember, they will adjust your jump point to a safe point
2. restrict your speed to around 100 when your altitude get near 14000 ( might have missed a digit there
your nav point will automatically be set there, if you happen to change the nav point it'll appear on the navigation screen, and should also appear on your main screen/radarand im rather confused as to how to find the way point when i get a mission
the load does take a while it's true, that mainly because the whole game is loading, the minor delay while jumping is mainly due to the engine emptying whats visible and calling up the new visible stuff.Any ideas how to increase load times?

Open nav screen (f1) and click close to a plant not on it.
The mission nav point is auto set so hit your (f2) button to warp to it if you have the proper drive installed. You can also aim your ship at the indicated nav point on your screen and fly towards it. This may be best so you don't jump into the middle of the battle if any.
can't help with load times
the forum has a thread for profiles so use search to help find it.

If you need order support, contact me by e-mail. Your registration details will be sent to whatever e-mail address was submitted with your order (or on file with PayPal if you used that). All pending orders so far have been processed, so you likely have your registration details waiting in your inbox or held in a spam folder.
Waypoint icon for a contract is a green X, it's both on the map and on your HUD. The yellow nav marker will automatically be set to the location of the green waypoint marker when you accept the contract.
I'm not sure on the X52 profile, haven't heard that one before.

Hi Captain Thorns, Welcome to the game and forum. When you talk about reset of your X52 Profile, do you mean the profile you created with the X52 Profile Editor? If so, before loading the game you have to make sure you select the profile you created and make sure it is activated and make sure it is set in the proper mode with the mode selector. You have to activate the profile after each reboot of your computer or make sure it is activated before every load of the game.

hi again,
it's easier to make a new post sometimes ( rather than editing the first post ), I suspect some ppl haven't read your message, babylon5 is the busiest server, though it's often quiet during holiday times.
If you land on a planet and turn your mining beam on you'll mine from the land, its best to do this away from plants and on land ( rather than on the sea. doing it in the air with recover oxygen.
I'd recommend the olympus system for starting combat, try to upgrade your ship shield and weapons a little first though, your best combat speed is around 750, fire cm's when the warning sounds ( and steer away from them, or shoot them down if flying straight at them ),use your afterburner to keep in range with your guns ( sub 500 ) and fire your missiles at short range for the most chance of doing damage. the strategy guide includes good combat tips too

Hi there Captain Thorns,
I guess that was you online the other evening... sorry you got attacked by the Romulan - he (or is it she - does anyone actually know?) is bent on targeting only new players. I don't know if that was your first foray into MP but normally you'll find that most other players are very friendly and helpful.
Anytime you want to team up to do some contracts or go exploring you're more than welcome.

Romulan is a he, but he has now a female companion according to one of Admiral Sindaries post. So could be a she who attacked Thorns.

And be advised both are formidable opponents. OK they strike fast and then hide, but that does keep us all on our toes.
