First of all. Thanks a lot for this great game. I know X3 too and for me this game is much better.

Is there any Starmap available ?

Hello evelinbinder, welcome to the forum and the Sim. Open your nav panel and you will see an option to open the quadrant map. This is the only "in game" giant map that I know of. See you out there sometime.:)

Yes, you can see charted map like this.
Uncharted systems, you have to find yourself or you will find good players to show you the ways in Mp.

I suggest you, please try "beacon quest".

Welcome to Evochron!

I was playing only single player so far. I red that evochron legends universe is generated by procedural generation like Divid Brabens Elite Serie.
Question : Are beyond the charted region also other Systems to explore ?

Welcome to the EL and the forums!

Yes with a caveat. Hidden and uncharted systems are very difficult to find. There is a LOT of space out there.

Hello, here is a lead to the ver .8 or such.
Hitchhikers Guide to the Evochron Galaxy V0.8 released

Hi everyone,

The guide is now in a usable state so I've uploaded it to filefactory for you to try out. I've included a pdf with full instructions. Let me know what you think and tell me about any bugs you find, I still consider this a work in progress.

Important notes:

You will need to copy the universedata.txt file from your Evochron Renegades folder into the Hitchhikers guide program folder.

Due to a limitation within in Fenix (the language this program is coded in) you are unable to close the window by using the cross in the corner as you usually would, to exit you need to press the escape key instead. In a future version I will code my own top bar to include the usual windows functionality.

Download the guide below.

 Just tried your H2GEG out on what's done so far in a modded "universedata" file. Amazing! Best data-checking tool I've seen in a long time. It shows me where to look for any misplaced planets, stars, jumpgates, wormholes ... the whole setup. Fantastic. Thanks, tiebers. Great job.

It's not mine. I just posted the lead to download it. I have sent the author a U2U to find out if he has an update.

The author was "ruckage". I have not heard back about an update. Maybe someone from the forum can continue the work (hope, hope, hope) as things like this are beyond me.:(:)

 This program is working quite well, with only minor exceptions. One, it was evidently written for Renegades because objects like the CStation aren't included. Two, it apparently has trouble arranging the data for the very last system listed in the "universedata" file.

I did a work-around for the last system in a modded "universedate" file (yes, the program works with mods, too) by adding a "phantom zone" at the end of the list. Also, to avoid question marks in the tab listing, make sure you have at least one planet in each system.

Would you mind posting any updated program you make?:)

 If you mean an update to the Hitchhiker program, that's out of my league. If you mean the "Foundation" mod for the game, I can email it to somebody after it's done. I don't know why (lazy, I guess) but I don't have an account with any of the file-sharing websites ... so, somebody else would need to host it.

Btw, if Vice ever decides to develop an SDK for one of his Evochron incarnations, this Hitchhiker program's layout would be perfect. Only, instead of a program that reads from the "universedata" file, the SDK would write to the file. And, instead of selecting icons (top menu bar) for display, they would be selected for dragging into place on the grid.
