I have been playing this Game for quite a while now and never explored the bribing before till a few days ago.
Well I have to tell you Vice is quite a tricky fellow. LOL
I started pacifing all the hostile territories in Evochron Lengends in SP. And in the process started to experiment with accepting Bribes. Normally the thought of bribing is disturbing to me and I would never accept a bribe in real life.
But in Evochron I discovered I have no problem accepting bribes from the enemy and then destroying them anyways afterwards. First they come at you with guns, cannons, and missiles blazing and then when they are completely out of ammo they offer you a bribe when they see they have no way out. So of course I am going to accept their Bribes to repair the damage they did to my ship if any and then destroy them. If they fire at me they are going to die paying for it. LOL :P:P:P:P:P
Made almost 1 billion in bribes so far. Not only your wealth goes up, but also your status and reputation and Civilian Rank.

i'm sure therew must be some kind of penalty for doing this

I love when reds fly up and as soon as they get in range they offer a bribe. Often I'll fly into a system and the reds will swarm me just to offer bribes.
I agree with Jeremy, I think if you kill a ship that you just took a bribe from should have some effects.
1. other ships less likely to bribe
2. higher chances of retaliatory attacks, in fact I'd love to see a unch of reds get together and attack a pilot as a group in revenge for such an act.

There is a penalty for accepting bribes. It takes longer to get your reputation up from one tier to the other. So it affects your reputation just a little. LOL :P:P:P:P:P:P:P

Yes, when they offer a bribe they state the amount of the bribe and what to do to accept the bribe. With my reputation and rank I get bribe offers between
3,500,000 and 4,900,000 per bribe. And I'm sure I'm the one getting paid. I made 1 billion in bribes so far. I went from 19 billion to 21 billion in credits doing contracts and accepting bribes while pacifing the whole of Evechron I have about four to Five systems left to pacify. LOL :P:P:P:P

My eyes must be going - I thought your headline read: "the joy of brides" !!
Today I finally have a good reputation in all of Evochron. And my total credits from bribes alone is 1.2 billion.
Now I will be of to Sierra Warzone again to fight of the Vonari now that I'm at peace with all of Evochron.
Managed to get good reputation every where using only guns and cannons no missiles. Got a little trouble in Aquilla where I forgot that I had experimented with wiping out the Navy and what that would do to your reputation. If you want to have a real fight with many enemies then make a system completely hostile by wiping out the navy of that system and try to restore your reputation with only guns and cannons. LOL :P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P
