Hey all. Just bought the game after the demo, felt like I didn't get enough time with it :) Anyways, I'm playing SP right now just mining and jumping around and exploding every so often (started over like 10 times now haha)

Was wondering if there's a new players guide with hints and tips on getting started in this awesome universe? Or just any general tips from veteran players?

Thanks guys, and kickass game especially by one guy!!

Welcome Aboard ZeppelinJO....there is a Guide to follow and I am sure someone will post where it is soon (Yoda moment...gotta love 'em) The forum posts have a lot of info and tactics. I've posted quite a few tactics in the Evocrhon Renegades forum that work just as well in Legends....Have a Great time and look for containers, they have items that you can load in your cargo hold with a tractor/mining beam and then sell for 100% profit at the starports....;)

Cool! I'll definitely lurk the forums while mining :) So far I'm actually having a pretty good time mining platinum, then jumping to a planet, cutting engines and letting my ship free fall till just above the ground then kicking the engines back on, very satisfying for some reason.

Is there any specific way to find these containers, or is it just random out in space?

Hire a Science ops and Navigator....their skill level and loyalty will increase as you complete contracts....when you jump into a new system/sector you may get a pitch and heading in the text message. Set your compass heading and pitch as per the message increase your speed to max and turn off IDS and coast along keeping your eyes open for a purple blip on your radar...when the blip appears, usually less then 10,000 away....turn IDS back on and adjust your heading to the purple blip. It can take awhile traveling and if you think you missed it...then just jump out 1 sector away and jump back in to get a new heading...doing this about three times can help you triangulate the containers....Good Luck ;)

Thanks for the tip!

Another question, I found somebody willing to pay 140k for me to take them to Outpost 3 in "-3203, 0, -2499." I'm not entirely sure how to find that.

Usually the smaller payouts give an SX, SY, SZ coordinate and I can find where they need to be, but if I put the coordinates listed above in the non sector coordinates area there is nothing nearby. How do I know where those coordinates need me to go?

Welcome aboard. Here is the link to the strategy guide if you haven't found it yet.

I found that a science officer and navigator were great help early on as they will help you find valuable containers and set you up for faster travel to and from stations. Don't be afraid to hop around looking to other regions. Many of the systems are "fair" reputation systems where you will find only a few red ships that you need to avoid. It's pretty easy to work in those systems and avoid conflict if you are just trying to mine, trade or work independently.

Hi Zep, welcome to the game, and the forum. You might want to try MP, you'll get lots of friendly advice, and assistance, from most of the pilots, in MP - just watch out for the Romulan, he likes to kill newbies.
