Is there a way of seeing what the trading is of other systems, even the price it was at a previous station or is the intention to use the notes or remember it?

Not the actual prices, which fluctuate anyway. But looking at your nav map, you can see the various economic sectors. best way of finding out which station pays the best for what commodity is to ask in MP. Have fun.

Buy a Fuel Converter in Sapphire for a low price and sell it in Lost Rucker for $3 million plus ;)....you can even get more at some unknown Planets and stations. When you find a Great place to sell you can save it's location in your nav map making a note like: Lost Rucker best trade...etc.

Things you buy and store in your Cargo Bays you can see what you paid for it by hovering with your cursor over the item in the Cargo Bay before selling it or trading it at another
Station in another System! So yes in a sense you can figure out what your profit will be before selling your cargo! This applies only to Cargo bought. For all other commodities and equipment you have to take notes or use your nav log for that purpose.;)

That is not bad, I was more hoping for like a trading system - i'm sure Elite had it where you could see rough prices at the different systems so plan the best trading runs.

At the moment i'd still using the contracts to learn to play the game

In terms of 'trading of other systems', this thread may help answer why long distance remote inventory checking is not included: http://www.starwraith.com/forum/viewtop ... 1#pid64226

In terms of pricing, you can check that remotely in the news console for the sector your are in or you can also use the economy quadrant map in the nav console, which gives you an idea of the general price levels for other systems in Evochron.

I'd agree with the systems you haven't yet seen, however giving the ability for holding the last seen prices of locations you have visited I think could be helpful. It's difficult for me to judge as i've only played this a few weeks - but i'm definitely not a pen and paper player and can't memorise the figures so this part i'm not getting on that well with :(

Once you get into the game a bit more it'll all become clearer. For example: you can buy, say fuel converters cheap, or acquire them in the Saphire system, take them elsewhere and you get over 3m each for them - nice profit. Or, you can find the best places for platinum prices - Rivoch pays the most in Saphire.

One thing your could do, to make a free bundle, is to join in, in MP, in some of the mission in the various war zones, using a civ ship. There's loads of cargo, from destroyed Vorani ships, just floating around - and, us lot, using military ships can't pick it up - it's there for grabs!!

 Then do what I did: find a buddy who is a pen and paper (or, in my case, a penna e carta) player. Else, you might have trouble doing the beacon quest.

My game times make it unlikely - I tend to play randomly and late which makes it difficult to buddy up :(

It's not a huge issue - just makes the thought of trading less pleasant than I thought it would be, but its way to early for me to make any comments beyond that

A lot of it comes with experience, just as with learning a new area of town you move to. At first, you aren't familiar with the roads or the local stores. You have to travel around a bit and learn where to buy what you want for the best price, where special options are, and how to get there. As you become familiar with the systems, you'll quickly be able to formulate good trade routes and learn where to look for the best deals.

Plus, you can always save records of your travels in the map log. The log will even give you a marked waypoint on the nav map for records you save. Just type in a few words to help you remember what the prices were like in a given area, then refer to the log any time you need a reminder. A saved record might look like:

Rivoch - Tech Econ, High Plat/Diam

Don't forget to use the tools that are available to you, including the local market ticker in the news console and the planet stats on the nav map. The economy type can help you determine where pricing hot spots are for specific items and the market ticker lets you gauge local values without you even having to stop at a station or city.

OK I went for my first purchase and made quite a tidy sum, still not quite sure how I can easily tell that i'm going to make a profit when I hit a system as the prices of the stock is total price and the system info just gives a price per unit (my mental arithmetic can't do 24015/19 :) )

By planet stats on the Nav Map - do you mean the economy map or am I missing something on the other map re trading. The News Info I see the trading screen which gives a good idea but still a lot of figures at the moment.

The map log seemed the easiest way - although that is on a different screen so isn't on the screen as you view it.

It could be the trading in this way is just not for me and I should keep to the contract side, how do other players find it - just seems a lot less information than other incantations or is that just my memory :)

When you zoom in on a sector and hold the pointer over a planet, you'll see some text appear at the bottom of the map. In parenthesis after the planet's name, you'll see a letter that indicates the class of economy for that planet. This can help you gauge what kind of economy you're dealing with and what kinds of prices you can expect for certain items, high or low. If you want specifics prior to learning the various values through exploration, the strategy guide offers a chart with a breakdown of market effects for each economy type.
