Make sure your pitch is 0 before you jump. I once had my pitch at about 80 degrees, and jumped into the middle of the station, instantly blowing up. Not my brightest moment....

Thanks Acc,
I actually finally just figured that out about 30minutes ago. No more slamming into the station's gravity well to slow down.

Good stuff. I'm gonna master nav 2nite hopefully. But since I'm stuck at work right now if someone wants to make a tutorial vid and stick it on youtube so I can watch by lunch I'll give you $5 and some peppermints

So do players regularly toggle front and rear view in the nav screen? Rear to set the "Y" value?
Also, is learning the gravity/atmosphere limits a part of learning the game and setting the "Y" value so that you don't burn up? Are all planets different?

If you use Mouse Control for flight then I'm not shure. But I do not think it autolevels the pitch to 0.
You have to make sure the pitch stays on zero when jumping. With Mouse control it might move when moving the mouse!;)
