As some of you guys may (or may not, depending on age!) know, Elite, THE for-runner of the space trading game, is 25 years old.
Many people here have said that Evochron is a worthy sucessor to Elite, and I wholeheartly agree. I thought I would post this little snip-it from the BBC website.

Elite, without you, I wouldn't have privateer or Hardwar, and Evochron, many thanks for setting the standard for future freeform space combat, trading games. Sorry X series, your to business economic simulation to be a worthy successor to Elite. Long live the Evochron series!

Elite written for the BBC - I played it in 1984 and fell in love with space sims. I dreamed of what it could be with a super computer and my dreams were like a poorer version of EM!!
Total memory = 32Kb of which 2Kb was used by the system and 8K for the graphics mode, leaving for all the game code and a grand total of 22K. All 8 Universes plus all their systems were coded in a total of 256 bytes
