I have been playing awhile and am currently piloting a leviathan. I decided to do the beacon quest. I got thru the Ledgends quest, and am now back to the Renegades quest so I can get to Riftspace. This one is harder. Space is big and it appears some beacons are just out there somewhere. So,

1. How do you deploy a probe? Using the J key didn't seem to work, although I had other stuff in the hold which may be a problem.

2. Can a probe locate a beacon within its range of 25,000?

3. If so, how does it tell you?

4. For that matter, can a science officer locate a probe? Do they work together with the probe, jettisoned or not, the probe jettisoned, not the science officer?

The beacons are at locations given through a series of hints :) When you find them it's absolutely rewarding.

Hello Tracer, welcome to the forum and the Sim. I don't use probes so others will have to help you. Sometimes I would like to Jettison one or more of my crew for sleeping on the job but oh well. :(:)

You install them to a secondary hardpoint, then use the 'fire' button to activate them.
2. Can a probe locate a beacon within its range of 25,000?
No and yes. Beacons are generally cloaked from all sensor technologies. However, some can be picked up on the radar and map with a purple blip, but most of them are well cloaked. They must be spotted visually. Most of them can be spotted many thousands of meters away though.
4. For that matter, can a science officer locate a probe? Do they work together with the probe, jettisoned or not, the probe jettisoned, not the science officer?
Probes have finite limits that are not effected by science officers. You get about 25,000 units of sensor range with a probe. They can do things like detect other ships beyond your sensor range, pick up hidden cargo containers, and even detect cloaked ships.

Hi Tracer, Welcome to the Game and Forum! And yes probes are most effective on detecting cloacked ships.

There are some players out there that like to sneak up cloacked on new inexperienced players! So beware!;)

What if you manufactured your probe at a constructor? How do you install it?

Right click on the probe to install in a missile slot...;)

You right click on it while you're docked.

If you use the "fire" button to activate a probe, do you still need to "ping" the probe for it to display any otherwise hidden information on radar?

:cool: And, if so, is there any way to bind the "ping" to a button so you can view the new info without first going to the Nav map (and clicking on "Ping")?

The Science Officer can detect cloaked ships?
I think in that case military ships should also be able to have the technology to detect cloaked ships since they cannot hire a science officer! ROFL!:P:P:P:P:P

i read that is possible to construct a probe with 25 plat when I'm in a station (and other item with other material) but how can i do? where? (in all station?)

Only in Construction Stations. There are several Construction Stations all over Evochron they are different from regular Stations;)

Yes, there are several in Saphire system, They are on your Navigation Map. Just turn the text on for Stations in your Nav Map and look for Constructor Stations!;)

Sorry but i don'find the constructon station..., can you tell me the name of the station(near planet) please? ...and then inside consol equip i found a special button to create the items?
