Hey all

Post by OLDS442 »

I downloaded the Legends demo lastnight and think it's pretty cool. I'm new to simulators of any kind. Couple of quick questions.

1. Is joystick best for combat? Esp. if you're used to fast FPS gaming?

2. Can you circumnavigate entire planets? (I'd try it now but I'm not at my computer).

Thanks

Yes & Yes!
There are many "joysticks" on the market, but the majority here probably use the Saitek X52, but it is "pricey" and may not fit your budget.
I suggest you visit their web page and see the variety and prices.

Thanks MMaggio, thetiebers. Also, is there a link to the keyboard diagram that came with the game download? I've looked and cannot find.

Yeah I saw that. But I'm at work on a computer that does not have the game installed. And my printer is not working at home ;). I guess I'm looking for an online instruction manual?

Thank for the pic thetiebers.

Well I used up all my demo time lastnight. I spent most of it just flying around. Honestly I was about to buy X3 Terran Conflict last week but I read that the planets in X3 are just decor and I didn't understand that. And I don't understand how EL could be so small yet offer all this movement in-game. It reminds me Landwirtschafts which is also relatively small measured against the size of the gameplay.

Anyway answer me this. Are the guide boxes needed to land on a planet? I noticed when I followed the guide boxes on Erato II they never turned green even though I was descending VERY SLOWLY. But when I ignored the guide boxes I ultimately entered gravity without a hitch. Or did I imagine this?

No the guide boxes are not needed to land on a Planet.
The Guide boxes are like the runway lights to guide air planes to the proper approach to the landing strip. If you are not lined up properly with the City docking platform then the guiding boxes will be Red you'll be to low or on the wrong side of the planet for proper docking. When the boxes are Green you are properly aligned to dock at Planet's City and you will see the docking beacon flashing a white light from the middle of the docking platform.;)
