Apologies to all if this has been asked before.
Just tried a solar panel cleaning mission. How do I complete the mission? I assume that you meant to just use your tractor beam until each of the squares on the panel is no longer opaque. I did this yet the contract never completed successfully. Am I missing something? The contract description said that I had to fly to a waypoint to begin the contract (did that, found the solar panel). It also said that dirt had to be removed from each solar panel using a tractor beam (I assume that each little square represents a solar panel, did that). Now what?

You didn't clean all of them completely. That is a contract which can penalize you if you try to rush through it. Just keep panning the beam over the solar cells until the contract is complete. Those with a sharp eye can often spot which remaining tile(s) is/are still dirty.
So there was likely one or more panels with some remaining cleaning left to do.

It helps to count out loud per solar panel before moving on to the next one. I recommend the counting scheme below.
"One Excalibur missile
Two Excalibur missiles
Three Excalibur missiles......"
Next panel.
"One Excalibur missile

Yup, just one micron of dust left on one of the panels and no contract completion. Did that my self a couple of times. Should have some solar dust storms that would mess up your cleaning. Just as you think your done wham a solar dust storm blows dust back on the panels and you would have to start all over again and keeps you counting as above^. LOL:P:P:P:P:POriginally posted by Grue
