Well, most of you probably know of the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds. Some of you probably didn't know that in flight sims like LockOn and FSX there are 'virtual squads' who fly the same kind of patterns and tight formations.

Ex: http://vimeo.com/1185550

I just had a thought, that perhaps some hotshot pilots could create something similar in the best possible agility config spaceship in evochron.

I haven't jumped into the multiplayer yet, but if the netcode+collision detection is good enough I think this would be kinda cool non-combat fun in EL.

Would anyone be interested in doing a little test-run of this? Or would the netcode/collision just make this an exercise in futility?

So long as you didn't bump shields and the participates had decent enough connections to reduce lag/object jumping, it would likely work well (LAN would obviously be ideal, but a properly set server should work well). I've wanted to try something like that for a while now. Desired target distances would need to be practiced for each formation.

Yes, acrobatic teams are a wonderful show.

Here in Italy we have one of the best (if not the best worldwise) team, the Frecce Tricolori (translated Tricolor Arrows - from the three colors of our flag).
Best regards

Just to start.... then you can browse freely. There should be videos of the incident that costed the lives of a couple of pilots and many spectators.

You can find a lot of stuffs just by searching on google with "Frecce Tricolore".

Thank you Denny.

I will send our teams links asap.

You can search in youtube as "turkish stars" or "türk yıldızları" for videos.

"Royal Netherlands Air Force Military Air Show" was great, have to watch it.

Here is the link of it:

A pretty numerous team. Nice.

That''s one of the element that makes our team well recognized. AFAIK is the largest around the world with 10 aircraft in the sky.

Watched the video of "tricolor arrows".

Really cool.

I like the low speed show, landing gear was open, wow!

I noticed that, 10 crafts, really good.

Any high res video about different acro teams would be fine for me.

So difficult show, risky and amazing!

Thanks again Denny.

I like this formations:

That was a very well done diamond shape.

The trick is hours and hours of practice and a lot of skill.

To do this in EL it would become mandatory to use TeamSpeak.

I asked to those that have provided the community with a server to put in the IP....otherwise is a fruitless search out there with so common names.

I grew up close to an airbase ,and always loved when the Blue Angels came to town.

http://www.blueangels.navy.mil/

Sometimes they would practice over the ocean ... a really cool show.

A 3 or 4 man formation would be fun to try. If all were to target 1 poor craft at a time it would be deadly.:P
