Hire for Fleet

Post by Sryan »

Hey there, Thanks for making such a great game, The learning curve was a little steep. But I found most standard functions I am currently aware of by playing and browsing the forums

However every now and then I hop against a friendly spacecraft wich would love to trade with me but has nothing to offer (...) but wich has a daunting big blue button that says something like

My questions are:

Do you pay these guys only once? or are they on cycles like passengers ( 99 secs) or crewmembers ( roughly 30 mins)??

also do they actualy do anything with you? do they join with combat contracts, can you make them hold on to cargo for you. do they defend you? would they die for you?

also just and idea, a search function for the forum would be great :D would prevent you guys from having to answer the same question over and over.

It could be that all this information was in the manual, unfortunate that I bought this game via DD, so I am missing that :P

Thanks in advance for all your information, Hope to see you guys soon on the forum and in the game :)

Hi Sryan, welcome to the forums and the game!

The forum does have a search function. There is a toolbar near the top of the page, and the Search button is the first one.

Something makes me think that the fee is repeating, but don't quote me on that. Others will be around to definitively answer that question for you.

Wingmen will join you in battle, but you must give them targets. I do not think you can define their loadout or what cargo they hold.

They cost you, and cost you, and cost you. You have two commands for them. Attack, and form up. The joy of sending your wing into a formation of enemies is just too fun. They will certainly die for you, and yes, they go on missions with you. You can not get wingmen in Multiplayer. At least, I cant. If you go to the trouble of having a lot of wingmen, you will lose them all when you go to MP. I did.

hi, ( and welcome :) )

yeah pay is 'by cycle' , pretty much the same as crew members.

As Karmy put it you do lose your fleet if you go into MP ( in MP the fleet system is used with real people not AI ships ).

You should still have the instruction manual, it'll be in the start menu beside the game as "Evochron Legends Instructions" its full of goodness.

Ah, so in some form, the AI controlled fleet was somewhat designed to replace the player controlled ships you need for some of the contracts ( or MP was designed the other way round :p)

No wonder I constantly failed on those missions where you have to kill Capital ships or large number of enemies!

Thanks for the help

:o Do you lose your fleet even if your MP profile is different from your SP profile?

If I understand Marvin correctly. you only affect the profile you go online with.

Say you have 2 profiles

profile a and profile b.

If you go online with profile b, but never with a, a will keep its AI fleet, but if you ever go online with it, you'll lose the fleet.

Hmmm I thought that your fleet came back when you went back to SP?

If you lose your fleet (I never use fleets, need them as badly as I need a crew and that comes down to never) when playing MP, I'd consider that a bug.
