New to Evochron Legends and have quick question

Post by Barreta »

Hi, noob to Evochron here.

Installed Evochron Legends on Vista64 yesterday and directed the install to my D: drive but after install I see /swd3dg/Evochron Legends/ folders on both C: and D: and both have files in them. Is that normal?

This is the install version from this site too and not Impulse or GamersGate.

Yes, that is normal. Save data files are kept independent of core game files (binary for example). Details are available here (including how to change it if you want to keep all of the files together or just relocate the save data folder):

Remember, do not change the save data folder to a write protected folder or a UAC guarded folder, otherwise the game won't be able to save data needed for your profiles or game settings.

Thanks. I never install any games on Vista64 to a protected folder and I give them all admin access too because you never know which need it and which don't so I just give them all admin access. EL needs admin access to use my TRackIR4 anyway. If I don't give it admin level then TrackIR4 does not work.

I hate UAC and prefer to use limited user account on Vista like I always have with XP and Linux. I use TweakUAC to put it in quiet mode like Win7 has built into it so it doesn't annoy me too much any more. UAC slows down lots of things too because it is always checking stuff before it will allow it to run. UAC may be a good idea for noobs but for a power user it is a PITA.

Thanks for the welcome fellow space nuts. :) BTW, saw X3 Terran Conflict 2.0 today at Walmart so had to buy that too so now I have 2 new deep space games to play in one week.

;) Then I won't spoil your day by telling you it's currently on sale at GoGamer's 48-Hour Madness.

How much? It was only $19.99 CAD at Walmart which is $18.34 USD so doubt GoGamer had it for less than that. GoGamer doesn't ship to Canada anyway.
