Hi I'm considering buying Evochron Renegades. I was curious are their any capital ship battles? Do you get to eventually pilot a bigger ship? ...or what is the biggest class ship you can pilot? Thanx for your help.

Yes, there are capital ship battles. Yes you get to purchase bigger and better ships as you progress with the Levethian beiing the biggest!

In Evochron Legends the latest game you have more ships to choose from, you can even fly military ships!

Oh, yes, Welcome to the Forum!

While you will not be able to fly carriers/capital ships, you can get your hand on some hefty cargo ships anyway.

If you hunt for it, you will be able to run into some carriers shooting the stuff out of each other - I recall. Although I must admit those occurences are more likely in Arvoch Conflict and Evochron Legends.

Hi all,

I just tried the Legends demo. It seemed like it would be fun. But my vision is poor since I'm legally blind. I find the displays hard to make out. So I'm not sure.

By contrast I found Starshatter's easy to read....but of course a totally different kind of game/sim. Same with Universal Combat....I've got no problem reading that either. Again, different type of game.

Couple of options. First, this game does need a fairly high resolution to maximize legibility. Make sure you have your desktop resolution set to the highest available and the game to match. Second, you can try different fonts, including larger ones, which can make the text much easier to read. In the Technical Notes section of the instructions included with the game are details on how to change/adjust fonts. I would recommend starting with Arial at a size of around 20, then adjust from there. I've attached a sample file you can use to test with.

That helped very much. Thanx. I'm still at a bit of a loss on what to do in the game so far. But I'll start over as I'm about out of demo time now. :)

Check out the 'Getting Started' section in the strategy guide here:

It has a lot of useful information on effective gameplay techniques and tactics, including when you're just starting out.

Yeah Me too.

Just wondering though because I have just got Legends already.
Have played through most of the demo in Renegades . I 'm really not sure what the main differences between the two of them are?
Legends and Renegades.
I'll probably get Renegades anyway soon, so I guess I will find out sooner or later. : )

I am not sure, but are there any servers now running Renegades for MP?

I thought DS9 was the last.

Still, I may be wrong - won't be the first time or the last!!

Legends and Renegades.

Main differences are -only main- :)

# New options including passenger transport, capital ship escort, military war zone missions, multiple waypoint patrols, and planet atmosphere combat contracts. There are many ways to make money and advance in the game.

# Multiplayer capacity increased (for both human players and AI controlled ships).

# New energy pod generators and receivers, which players can use to set up 'capture the flag' scenarios and receive free fuel.

# New constructor stations that you can take raw materials to for constructing components and items.

# Enhanced 3D game engine with new effects, objects, and textures.

# Dynamic economies with realistic variable item availability and specialized industries.

# New weapons and equipment include the Lynx, Rage and Cyclone missiles, proximity mines, probes, and new stealth technology.

# New military combat ships you can own and fly ranging from light scouts to heavy interceptors. New capital ships include Cruisers, Battleships, Command Ships, and Destroyers which also join in war zone battles, plus Carriers you can dock with for military objectives and ships.

# Save your designs with the new template system to rebuild later. Store ships and cargo in hangars you can rent at trade stations.

# Clue-based integrated story you can continue at virtually any time. Follow the beacons, solve the clues and voyage through many systems in a quest to discover the mystery of what happened at Arvoch and the device the Alliance found. Players who take on the challenge of the story quest and succeed will discover a very beneficial feature.

# Supports keyboard, mouse, gamepad, and joystick flight control. Use the control device you prefer to play the game. Force feedback control is also supported.

# Also, autopilot future, NAV maps futures, docking future, camera future, etc. etc. are improved.

I suggest to new players, play Renegades first and go on with Legends. They are closly related ( I mean beacon quest). If you play Renegades first, you would have many advantages in Legends.

Rock 'n roll!

It is a different game, JacKKnife, but the game engine is the same. There are several differences in ships, weapons, missions, and graphics that really make it an amazing game.
You can always go to the home page and read the description and play the demo for free!
We look forward to seeing you on MP.
