Just a short question

Hey, i'm new to the community. I recently tried the demo and bought the game instantly! First of all i rarely buy games, and just "borrow them from the internet" due to the high price and low quality in games. I found evochron a fair deal with the 90 min demo and the price 30$ canadian not too bad.

So my question is, with all these game suggestions i see, is the game updated quite frequently? Do the updates add significant features? Who does the updates, the developper or are they community made mods?

Yeah there are regular updates, some of these include major functional changes and/or changes to the universe. Mostly these have been 'player-led' developments, IE. suggested by players to improve the game.

Who does the updates, the developer or are they community made mods?

Mostly the developer, though there are a host of 'mods' , from new ship models ( see warsigns thread), and other models (carwash has a cool city model) and some multiplayer led mods/addons (mostly done by myself with a little help).

Thanks, the universe is ever expanding, so why not the game too haha. Is the forum the best place to find mods? And do mods create incompatibility in multiplayer with players who do not have the same mods?

Yes the Forum is the best place. And no, mods are completely compatible in Multiplayer and are very cool!

For most mods the answer is no, for the mod I'm working on ( and any other 'custom universe'/ universe mods ) the answer is yes ( though there is development on a launcher app which will help to reduce this).

Hello tanman24, I want to welcome you to the forum and the Sim although I take exception to anyone who claims openly to be a software pirate. Some games may cost a bit but a lot of hours go into them.

Ya i hope that can't be used against me or anything hahah, but i was trying to pay a compliment to the developper to his marketing being well done!

edit: and yes, i do buy games i find worth playing

SAME EXACT story with me

It's the only game I ever bought... lol really!

That is why I try so hard to make suggestions for it before a new one comes out (Like renegades -> Legends) I will not be able to buy the next one though

I just bought EL too and am also a Canadian. I buy quite a few games though but made sure I bought the game directly from here instead of Gamersgate so the developer would get max % of my money. Very good game for a one man project and far less resource hungry than X3, which I also have.

In the grand scheme of all things considered, the Evochron series of games are updated fairly often and the updates are usually significant. The author of these particular games is more concerned about the quality of the title than anything else and, therefore, listens quite intently to his customers when planning changes and upgrades to the games.
