Crew Members and wages

Why do I have to go in and edit the wages of my crew every half an hour? Am I doing something wrong?

If I dont keep editing it, they get mad and leave. The "Match" button didnt help either.

To gain their loyalty they expect a wage increase. It is best to keep the increase around 200 to 250 with every pay cycle!;)

The more you make the more your crew want. I pay 1000 to 2000 above normal to keep them happy and I adjust it as my income goes up.

I have their loyalty. It peaks at 100. I still have to adjust their wages every thirty minutes or the loyalty goes down. This is by design? It sounds more like I am missing a button to push.

Im perfectly happy to pay them exhorbitant wages. Even three times that amount... but the micro management is kind of excessive.

If you're having to adjust their wages every 30 minutes, you may either not be paying them enough to last for a while, or you're making money so fast that you need to update their wages at such a fast rate. Remember to use the Alt key to select intervals of 500 instead of 50, which makes bumping their wages up go a lot faster.

The rats bailed on me anyway. Loyalty over 90, each, and they all quit.

I wasnt aware that my own wallet figured into their wages. That must be the problem. Ive been making a mint. Hopefully the next batch will be more content. Thank you for replying, Vice and Tiebers.

Ahh another opportunity to use my new quote, or saying...

Just "Nuke them in the head with the Fulcrum Torpedo and see how they like it"

They will think twice before begging for more money every 20 minutes. In real life your boss will Jettison you out into space for doing that. Civ ships have bedrooms, bathrooms... so when youre sleeping they ask you in the middle of the night>???

Whatabout star trek or star wars.... do crew or clone troopers ask the people for a raise every 10 minutes in the movie?
Not even once?
Ever?
Yeah. THink twice before begging for more money "In this economic crisis to feed my family"
Youre floating in space in a huge airplane space shuttle like ship.... Either your family is in it and traveling with you, or he/she doesnt have one.

50000 an hour is max for all employees i'd ever pay... Sound realistic? I think not... especially how I brought home 200$ after working 30 hours on a painting job for 3 straight days o0ntop of a ladder for the last 3 days in my real life :P

50000 an hour, rofl..... Mcdonalds pays that for all of their employees around the world...
Don't leave your computer on [AFK] if you fly in one of those "China" ships (I mean the population :P sorry)
It can be risky, and might make you go bankrupt if you really do leave it on for a few hours... Might want to get rid of some of your Navigation crews, they don't do much... I really don't see them do anything. YOu click on the map (a black hole) you still go there... Click on a planet , and you still crash... I dont see them fixing anything, making it "safe"

Sorry for being all "Mean" or "racist to china" sounding :P

I get excited with new ideas, and I criticize almost everything around me...
Sometimes for the means of humor.

China ships lol.... I meant figuratively, of all that crew you have in there to pay they a load, and then give them a raise every 10 minutes!!! Its like a Russian private in WWII becoming a general in 2 days.... most were killed (27 million IN COUNITING) but alot stayed at the same rank for ever :P

I'm not going to hire anyone if they are going to harass me every 30 min. for pay increase. Once per year would be ok but every 30 min. would drive me nuts and in RL they would be fired on the spot. I think the developer should modify that behavior in a patch to make it more realistic.

Strange, it's not a problem that I've ever had. I pay my crew just over 500 above the going rate, and no problems, as long as loyalty stays at 100%. If you don't complete a mission, your crew loyalty drops. Even if the loyalty is in the high 90s they can still leave your employ. But, they can only leave your ship when it is docked at a station - they can't leave a military carrier.

Doing missions, from a military carrier, is how I work a crew up to 100% loyalty. Keep them at 100% and they won't leave, regardless of their wage, mine are often down to 300 over the going rate and still don't complain. And I've got money, nearly 600m, not up in the multi billions like some, but still a respectable amount.

Keep the loyalty at 100% and the crew will stay!

As I stated above, it had to do with the rate I was earning money. I made an obscene amount of money in a very short time, and they wanted part of it. When I stopped, they stopped.

If you've got loads of cash pay them ten times their usual salary, it usually works for me :)

I have a full crew at 100% skill and loyalty and they are not asking for that kind of money.

Their wage is around 3000 each.

With a fully upgraded ship the trick may be not to earn so much money. :P
Best regards

I Might be wrong but i believe a crewmembers wage is based on how proficient he/she is at there job, as a crewmembers skill rises so do there wage requirements.

I pay about 15k above standard wage for any system. As a mercenary I know it's in my best interest to keep my crew happy, don't want a revolt!

I stopped using crew, if I get bored and lonely I'll just pick up some hitch hikers but they have to meet certain criteria before they can hitch a ride. LOL :P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P
