Hello!
I have just started playimg this fantastic game since few days and I have 2 little questions about frames and crew:
1) when I look at the available frames, I see many of them "black" and if I as select 1 of them a message appears stating that it is not available at this station ... so it means that only some stations have all the frames? where?
2) the frame info doesn't state (for what I have seen) how many people can you hire ... more precisely I don't think that a small frame can have room for many crew people and, maybe, some passenger; so where can I find how many people can "store" any frame?
This game lacks for a decent complete manual ... this is for me the only negative point.
Thanks on advance!
Roberto

Hello and welcome.
1 - Correct. You'll need to explore to find them. Systems with much more advanced economies and technology will offer the more powerful frames. If you want specifics and don't mind spoiling the challenge of finding them on your own, refer to the strategy guide mentioned below.
2 - Civilian frames can hold up to 4 crew members each (the limit of skill trades available).
If you're looking for a manual that gives away details like in point 1 above, you won't find it in the included instructions (which are intended to only give you the basics needed to get started in the game). Exploring for better equipment, weapons, ships, commodities, technology, etc, is part of the game and giving away that information is not intended as part of the instructions. If you don't mind spoilers for that kind of information, the strategy guide likely has the details you're looking for: http://starfighter.home.att.net/evochro ... lguide.htm

Welcome to forum and sim rsitaly.
You are playing in a vast universe, exploring is playing an important role in this sim. You'll find awesome and powerful/useful things out there.
Keep searching, use jumpgates, wormholes, blackholes, fulcrum drive.
I suggest you, start to "beacon quest" after did some trading-harvesting...
