Universedata.txt question.

Post by Kovah »

So i was playing around with this file (made a backup of course), and I noticed that every time I'd run the game the file would disappear. Is there a way to get it back short of copying a backup back into the folder/re-installing? Just curious...

Where did the file disappear from? From the swd3/EvochronLegends Folder?

Did you try to restart the game after the file dissapeared without the backup copy?
and if so where you able to play the game?

If this is the case you might have made the file some how become hidden when you run the game!

I never had this happen that the file just disappears. Also make sure that your shortcut path to the .exe file is the same as where the file is located!

Other then that it is something for Vice to look into, and he may be able to help you!;)

Not a known issue. Moving of the universe data file generally only occurs if you install the game to a non-default folder (that is, the binary and core files are kept in a different folder other than c:\\sw3dg\\EvochronLegends). Then if you try to edit the universe data file in the binary folder, the game will detect the difference (or that the old file is still in the binary folder, not the save data folder) and move it automatically to the save data folder for use in the game. That's the only known condition where the file can be moved.

Ah my mistake, it turns out i had changed the installation dir. The file was moving itself to the default install folder like you said Vice. Mystery solved.
